The game does not start/nothing happens

this is very similar to my issue but i bought through steam. Ill let you know if anything works

Same here, I have this issue too. I've owned the game since 2021 but it's not worked for at least a year. I finally wanted to play the Star Wars Battlefront 2 and even factory reset my computer to see if that would maybe help? You know clearing out files or just reinstalling the launcher/game can help. But other EA games work like It takes two, Sims 4 and Jedi Fallen Order, which all require some level of connect to the internet/servers. This is a nightmare.

It feels like I've tried everything to fix this issue; Factory reset of pc, Uninstalling launcher/game, changing downloading location both on Steam side and EA app Side, Unlinking/re-linking steam account from EA app, creating new EA account and linking my Steam account to it.... I need someone to figure this out!

Yeah I have the exact same issue. I have the issue for Battlefield 5 and Dragon Age Inquisition, it's been like that since EA swapped from origin for those two games at least. The EA app obviously messes something up and they just refuse to look into it or help the hundreds of other people that are surely having the same issue. If they do help it's the stereotypical "Reinstall the game" or "Make sure your graphics drivers are updated" which does absolutely nothing. I'd like to actually be able to play BF2 again but I don't even wanna risk buying it on steam bc I'm sure it's the EA portion that messes it up so that wouldn't even matter.

yea i got the EXACT same problem. good to know its not just me. i think its a bug that EA has to fix themselves. i contacted xbox customer support and i think i tried like.... at least 15 different "solutions" (cleared cache, completely cleared every single possible EA related folder and file off my pc, reset the xbox app, uninstalled both, repaired the game, restarted pc, launched the ea app and the game in both compatibility mode and administrator, logging in and out of both accounts, swapping to a different EA account and linking it to that, disabling my virus protector and excluding the game from the virus protector, and SOOOOOOOOOOOO much more. i was told to go ni my device manager and enable and disable some EA services, did nothing. the only thing that let the game launch was using a different windows account on the same pc. idk why, but that worked. all of my settings and some fo my apps didnt transfer to that account so i didnt bother using it anyway.)

I don't know if this will help but try disabling the EA overlay for the game there has been multiple issues with that feature that it's funny , also try to start the app from epic games launcher instead of the EA launcher. (If it works let everyone else know)

not sure if this'll work since i was only able to launch the game through another windows account meaning it had nothging to do with EA app settings but ill try this soon and say if it works or not

alright so, i tried over 20 solutions as i stated in a different post. none of them worked. i got in contact with official xbox support, did over like 10 things they told me to do, that didnt work. looked through **bleep** near every thread, no solution worked. however, i cleared out all frosty mod manager folders (if youve ever used that), and cleared the environment variables for frosty mod manager off my pc. i then launched the EA app through a local windows account. when i clicked play on battlefront 2, it opened the gmae, stayed on a black screen, went full screen, then closed. thats PROGRESS at the very least. its definitely something to do with the anti cheat and EA messing everything up, we might have to watif or a fix if we ever get any


(i found a thread from THREE YEARS AGO of people having the exact same problem with no solution, soooooo we might just be perma cooked.)
