Ship Balancing Feedback
This is a great game to succeed the X-Wing vs Tie fighter era. The feel of flying the ships and the sounds are great. I’ve been playing the dogfights quite a bit, and am often the top player in the game. I’ve noticed one glaring issue when playing this mode. The empire tie fighters and tie bombers have way too much health. It is to the point where there are 2-3 players a game flying BOMBERS in dogfight mode, to exploit this. Tie fighters are supposed to be fast and unshielded, yet with overcharged blasters it takes 3 seconds of continuous fire to destroy one? I realize the game needs to be balanced, but consider these things.
The tie fighter is a much harder target. They do not need an OP hull like this.
In the original x-wing Vs tie fighter, the damage you could take was much more on par. By giving tie fighters the same hit points as an xwing (the xwing has less unless the pilot shifts shields), it simply gives imperials one less system to manage, a smaller target, and an unbalanced advantage. This only seems to be an issue with tie bombers and tie fighters. After only a few days it is turning into a bomber exploit fest in most games, because they take an absolutely ridiculous amount of damage. The mode otherwise is fun, but we are all wondering who thought this was a good idea to balance the game, when it does the opposite. Just my 2 cents. Still having fun... but really?
