Game crashes during story cutscene. EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0

My current objective is 'Reach Pilgrim's Sanctuary' on Jedha.

I start at the meditation point Timeworn Bridge, take the shortcut zipline up to talk to Merrin before force pulling the block to open the small wind challenge tomb area. I pull the blocks, get the central tower to descend, then slide down to the platform with the cyclone and lightning strikes surrounding it.

As soon as I jump into the wind and the flashback cutscene with Cere starts and the game crashes. 100% of the time.

I have the latest update to the game, updated GPU driver, verified game files, uninstalled and reinstalled and I've submitted multiple crash reports.

I've disabled the Steam and Geforce overlays, and I don't know what else I can do on my end.

No ray tracing, film grain, or motion blur enabled based on previous searches I've done.

It's so disappointing that this game has so many problems for me and so many others.

My PC specs:

Processor 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12600K, 3700 Mhz, 10 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s)

Name NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER

Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 32.0 GB

Game is installed on an SSD

  • Can someone please reply and tell me if there's a way to fix this, or if anyone else is having the same issue? This first happened after the 7.0 update and still happens after 7.5. Can any admin help please???

I have the same issue with the game crashing in cutscenes , i have to skip them all on jedha otherwise the game crashes to desktop , it crashes at the same exact spot in the cutscene everytime ,first it was the one where you get the dash ability , i skiped that and the game didnt crash ,and now its on a new one at the base when talking to bode and cordova the game crashes when cal mentions dagan

  • I had this exact same problem. Never found a solution I just had to skip the cutscene. Luckily I get a few seconds before it crashes but I've since experienced this same problem on other cutscenes. One before the final mission of the game and it happens so fast I can't skip the cutscene. Basically locked out of the end of the game.

    Specs:

    Ryzen 7900X

    NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080

    32 Gigs RAM.

Same crash here. First one was in the flashback scene on Jedha. Haven't skipped past it yet to see if there will be others, but it has happened 3 times. That's enough for me to wash my hands of the game for now and walk away. EA please fix this.

For what its worth I have the following hardware:

    Intel 9700k

    Nvidia 4090 RTX

    64 gig RAM

and I am running the game off of an NVME drive. I can submit more information if it is useful.

  • I'm having this problem now, I wasn't aware you can skip the cut-scene, I suppose I will sit through another 5 minutes of shader loading with a NASA spec PC to try this again:

    Crashing on Jedha during flashback.
Really, really, really f'ing tired of how broken this game is. I just replayed this segment where you reunite with Merrin, fight a robot and two jet-pack storm troopers, and then have to navigate a series of rather monotonous force pull puzzle mechanics inside of a circular spire only to have the game crash during a flashback 4 times in a row, waiting 5 minutes for shaders to compile at the beginning of each restart as well. This game is so incredibly broken, I take it I must disable RT here, this is the fix one year after release? So basically this is a long-standing bug that they've basically not fixed?

I will NEVER buy another EA game, purely on principle, after this ♥♥♥♥-show of a game, purely on principle, and I do mean that I will NEVER buy another EA game after this.

Disabled RT, it's still happening, I think I'm about done with this garbage:

@Vulcan1978 Lmfao, now the game is telling me repairs are required and is asking me to sit around with my thumb up my * while it repairs a 130GB game, did I say that this will be my last EA purchase because of EA's abandonment of this broken title?
