Re: Game Progression Lost on PS5

I finished the game today and was doing some side stuff afterwards, mainly bounties. I finishes a bounty and fast travelled to the mantis which caused my game to crash. This is probably the 2nd time the game as crashed for me, so i simply reloaded the game to continue where i left off.

When reloading the game i get a message in the top right saying 'fixed your game due to data corruption' which i thought was weird, and then when i'm in the game, my save is now on the mission 'climb mountain to the obssrvatory'. My PS5 has automatically deleted my finished save game, and replaced it with one that took place HOURS before the point i was at before the crash!

And i don't have ps plus to upload the saves to the cloud, and i didn't have a usb stick either cause i didn't think i would need to! And i only had one save file cause thats just a thing i do, i don't feel the need to create multiple saves when playing a game. I am so angry and upset rught now, does anyone know if there is a fix for this or am i just completely screwed cause this is just so WRONG!

  • After playing more that 86% of the game there was like an error report and then an information on screen said if I want to send a report to Sony (that I did). When the game restarted I lost a lot of my savings and the game restarted from 65%. Is it possible to have all my most recent savings back?

    Summarize your bug I was about to fast travel and the game crashed. When loading the game back up, the game asked me to choose the older cloud save or the more recent console save. I chose the recent one and it reverted my save back to my 22 percent save. The new journey plus save (different save) still is there though.
    How often does the bug occur? Rarely (0% - 9%)
    Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Don’t know, fast travel and crash?
    What happens when the bug occurs? Current Save game is lost
    What do you expect to see? Not that

    The save I was playing is my normal save.

    Summarize your bug I have been playing the game since release, however I have turned my PlayStation on today to find my save data which was 29 hours of gameplay has all been removed, with the latest saved data being 1 hour into the game. This is the case for both my cloud and console storage.
    How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)

    What happens when the bug occurs? I have lost 29 hours of gameplay because of this

    I have seen a lot of posts on different forums about save issues (Including loss of progression), Until these issues with save files have been fixed I recommend anyone on PS5 that use PS+ cloud backup go to Settings > Saved Data and Game/App Settings > Saved Data (PS5) > Sync Saved Data > Auto-Sync Saved Data once the lists loads up find Jedi Survivor in the list and turn off the sync function for the game. What this does is prevent the PS5 from automatically making a backup of the save file to the cloud.

    Why turn this off? Two reasons

    1.) If you loose progression on a save file, That loss of progression gets saved and uploaded to the cloud you no longer have a safe backup from the cloud to revert back to.

    2.) If you crash and your save file becomes corrupted, That corrupted save gets uploaded to the cloud you no longer have a safe backup from the cloud to revert back to.

    Both of these issues I have seen many people posting about on various forums.

    Just note that you will have to manually make a backup of your save file occasionally which you can do by highlighting the game tile on the home screen pressing the options button and selecting Upload/Download Saved Data then select the Upload option. I am 35 hours into the game and my routine when I am ready to quit the game is go find a meditation spot, save the game, quit to the title screen, close the game and then manually upload the save. I have not had any issues with my save file or loss of progress, I will not guarantee that this is a full proof method to never running into a save file issue but it can help!

  • @ParvisLR It looks like a lot of people are having the same issue, myself included. I even have the cloud upload but it's the same exact file as the console storage - somehow it's deleted my progress on them both

    Summarize your bug Just downloaded the patch from today - suddenly I’m back at the start of the same halfway through Coruscant, having lost all my save data from several planets into the game. And because this game doesn’t allow for multiple saves, there’s nothing I can do. The cloud save immediately overwrote itself the moment the game continued from the first level so that doesn’t work either. There isn’t a magical solution I’m missing? And how can I raise a complaint?

    THis just happened to me even on PS5.... Luckily there is a cloud save feature. Unfotunately though I was already at the observatory and now I am back to saving zee....

    I also lost my save on PS5 one week ago, here are the details : 

    Platform: PlayStation 5

    PSN ID/Xbox GT: lebuteurfou

    Region: Paris, France

    Are you getting an error message? The classic one when the game crashes during a fast travel loading screen, save corrupted then recovered and upload it to the PS Cloud but it was corrupted I guess so it made me restart from an old save.

    Date this issue started (is it still happening?)? On May 20th if I remember well.

    Where was your last save at? Near the Watch Tower on Koboh, I was just going to start the Lucrehulk mission.

    Where did your progress restart at? At the beginning of the game when you discover the passage under the Pyloon's Saloon.

    Please share any steps you've tried to far to resolve the issue: try to find a PS5 save on internet and it didn't work, try to copy paste the save from the PS Cloud but it was the same corrupted file, try to launch the game with the performance mode off.

    If possible, share a Screenshot or Clip... I already shared one from my PS5 when the game crashed.

    Half the time when I load in

    Yesterday, It is still happening

    My last save was after the second Dagan Gara fight  and it brought me back to right after the first fight with him, that was over 6 hours of gameplay for me and I’ve stopped playing the game as of now unless there’s a fix

    Date this issue started: May 24 2023 and it hasnt happened again as of yet.

    Where was your last save: it was right after completing the main story and had just traveled from tanalor to koboh

    Where did your progress restart at: At jedda, right before you reunite with cere

    Please share any steps youve tried to resolve this issue: ive tried reloading a cloud save file and rebuilding the database of the ps5, neither of them worked

    occured on 8/22/23. Unfixed

    unsure where progress was. Reverted to 6% from 2 1/2 weeks prior

    tried downloading cloud save but it was at same reverted point

    I have the same PS5 problem as everyone else and can't be bothered to answer all your questions when you already know there is a problem!

    Bottom line is there is no game save option and when I die the game restarts at the beginning of a new chapter, and I lose everything. I gained.
