Severe Performance Issues on Xbox Series S – No Solutions Provided

I’m experiencing major performance issues while playing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on my Xbox Series S. The game frequently stutters, drops frames, and struggles to run smoothly, making the game unplayable. I’ve tried all basic troubleshooting steps, including reinstalling the game, clearing the cache, and ensuring my console and game are fully updated, but nothing has improved performance.

I contacted Microsoft/Xbox support, but they refused to offer any exchange or solution since I purchased my console from a retailer. The retailer also won’t allow a return or exchange because the console has been opened. This has left me completely stuck with a device that does not run the game properly.

I also reached out to EA support, but I was only told to post on the forums, and that they can't help me with anything beyond troubleshooting (Microsoft already walked me through all the same steps). I’m hoping that by posting here, I can get some kind of real solution—whether from other players or from EA’s community managers. Are there any planned patches or workarounds that could help with these performance issues?

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Having the same issue with mine, I can run all my other games completely well but the second I start playing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor I start having problems

    • Check for Updates: Ensure the game is updated to the latest version. Developers often release patches to address performance issues. You can find the latest patch notes here.
    • Adjust Settings: While the Series S is less powerful than the Series X, tweaking in-game settings (if available) or switching between performance and quality modes might improve stability.
    • Clear Additional Space: Freeing up storage on the console can sometimes help with performance, as it allows the system to allocate resources more efficiently.
    • Community Feedback: Engage with other players on forums like Reddit or the EA forums. They might have discovered workarounds or temporary fixes. For example, some users have reported improvements by disabling overlays or adjusting console settings.
    • Future Patches: EA and Respawn have acknowledged performance issues on various platforms and are actively working on updates. Keep an eye on announcements for upcoming patches that might address these problems.
    • Escalate the Issue: If support from Microsoft or EA hasn't been helpful, consider escalating the issue through official complaint channels or consumer protection agencies, especially if the game was advertised as optimized for the Series S.

I'm sorry to hear that jflan. I tried the Xbox One version on my Series S and the Series S/X version and both run the same way. I recently found out that the game only runs at 30 FPS on the Series S, but 60 FPS on the Series X. I didn't think before purchasing the console or the game to see if the game would have problems on the Series S, I had no reason to. Microsoft advertises on their store page for the game that it's optimized to run on the Series S/X and that it runs at 60 FPS. But none of that is true. The game has not been optimized correctly and this is obvious since both you and I are having the same issues. Microsoft won't take any responsibility for it and just told me to go to EA. EA just told me to come to the forums. I'm now stuck with this game and console, with no way to get either working properly and no way to return anything or upgrade. I wouldn't have bought either the game or Series S had they been honest on the games page. Both companies are responsible in my opinion, though neither seem to want to take responsibility for this and help people get it running the way they should. I'm really not a fan of either company anymore. Both have lied to me, deceived me, dismissed me, happily taken my money, and have shown no interest in making this right with me.

Thank you, but I've tried all these. The official complaint channels put me here. They're very happy to dismiss the problem and not make this right. I feel very taken advantage of by these companies. I've resorted to writing a letter to EA and sending it to them in the mail.
