LAUNCHER Problem, patching every time and wrong patch issue.

ok when the new launcher came out i had no problems but for 2 weeks now the launcher is getting worse and worse every day. started to patching 30% of the times I want to log in, and now it's 95%. but that's not the worst part.

- at first it started to take about 4 minutes on this (it used to take 30 seconds before) it's a bit annoying, but it's tolerable.

- but now every time i try to login the launcher starts patching, it downloads a small patch it takes 1 minute or 2 than when i get to the character selection screen this message pops up.

I press "OK" it closes the game. and I need to wait 2-5 minutes and try to login again, and it will download a new patch. this time varies from 3 to 10 minutes, and from then on the game logs normally. if I don't wait 2-5 minutes after the first try, it won't patch again resulting on the same popup message, or it will download the same small patch again and show the same popup.

I can't describe how ANNOYNG it is to have to do this "ritual" every time I want to play the game.

is there any manual way by editing the launcher.settings file or something to block the launcher from looking for patch, so i can only allow it when there is a official patch day?

    Can you confirm if this was a clean new install or an update of an old install

    ensure there are no bitraider folders in the game folder firstup if one exists delete it , and the launcher.settings file

    See if that helps before going futther

    it was a update from the old launcher, i got rid of bitraider years ago, by deleting the folder and editing the old launcher.settings with

    "PatchingMode": "{ \"swtor\": \"BR\" }" to "PatchingMode": "{ \"swtor\": \"SSN\" }"

    and

    "bitraider_disable": false to "bitraider_disable": true

    since then i had no issues with the laucher untill now.

    @SWTOR-Player

    try deleting the client_setting file and see if it helps

    if it persists try a fresh clean gameinstall , if it persists after that may need to see if any proxy servers exist as caching of the patchmanifest by a proxy server could cause the game to have the wrong game version

    There is no "client_setting" file on the "Star Wars-The Old Republic" folder, only

    launcher.launcher.metafile.json
    launcher.settings
    launcher.swtor.metafile.json

    on the folder "Star Wars-The Old Republic\swtor" there is a folder named "retailclient" and inside that folder there is a file named "client_defaults.cfg".
