Normally seen with nvidia video cards when tabbing out when loading, its covered in the following guide
Guide - Game failing to launch when Clicking play
- Screen is displaying a solid color before or at the character select screen
Press ALT + Enter first to switch to window mode and back to fullscreen otherwise
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars-The Old Republic\swtor and delete just the file called discachearena then start the launcher and login.
