I don’t like datacrons because they’re just a temporary modifier that can circumvent the investment players have made in mods.
Just one example is the level 9 Darth Vader datacron that gives him a revive and bonus turn following the first time you defeat him. You can have the best mods in the game and there’s little you can do to prevent Darth Vader’s bonus turn.
Do I use datacrons myself? Yes I do, with the sole reason being that I would be shooting myself the foot if I didn’t. In don’t know if the folks at CG are trying to use the number of datacrons out there as an indication datacrons are successful or not, but I don’t think they actually play the game if they think datacrons are a “fun and exciting way to adjust the meta”.
I’d rather certain of the good datacron bonuses just be omicrons since they won’t ever expire
