- There is, cause if understand correctly your potency-opponents tenacity=true potency. There is still always a 15 percent chance to resist even if your potency is 100 or higher more.
- yes, 10% difference!
joking aside, it depends on the tenacity of your target.
chance to resist = tenacity - potency (with a minimum of 15%). So vs characters downwards of 115% tenacity it doens't make a difference. - Ok great, thank you
- Now this got me thinking if tenacity is a good choice at all. For me it makes sense if I can resist at least 50%-60% of attacks.
Lets say a typical Zaul's potency is what, 60%? This means my toon's tenacity should be at least 110-120% to reach a desired effect and that is.. impossible.
What about a typical EP with 80% potency? I wont bother with tenacity any more then - scuba759 years agoLegend

Congratulations you have found how useless tenacity mods are in their current state. They, like some other mods need a major boost in numbers to make them use able. - I'll just add that Sidious' zeta gives him extra health based on his potency, so the more potency the better with him.
- Dooku has base 75% potency.
General Kenobi, a tank, has base 35% Tenacity.
With a base 15% chance to resist, this means the first 65% tenacity you add through gear is useless.
You will have 15% chance to resist at 35% tenacity or 90% tenacity. (90-75=15)
If you add 66% tenacity to Kenobi you will only have a 1% higher chance to resist compared with doing nothing at all.
You are simply much better off stacking defensive mods and using a tenacity buff. - ddlooping29 years agoSeasoned Ace... or to put it simply, you need 100% more tenacity than the opponent's potency if you want to always resist his debuffs.
i.e, versus a 75% potency Dooku, you'll need 175% tenacity.
If you only have 50% more tenacity you'll have 1 chance out of 2 to resist, if 25% more it'll be 1 out of 4, etc etc...
Not sure if the 15% base chance to resist can be subtracted from the needed tenacity or if it only comes into play when tenacity - potency > 15%.
Don't take my word for it though. :D "ddlooping2;c-1024305" wrote:

The 15% is just the floor, it doesn't add to your tenacity value... which makes tenacity mods even more worthless.
If your opponent has 50% potency for example, everything from 0% tenacity all the way up to 65% tenacity gives you the same 15% resist chance...- scuba759 years agoLegend

all in all it really doesn't matter. IMO unless you are able to have tenacity 2x attacker potency tenacity mods are pretty much worthless.
