Yes on BB-9E, but no on the Astromech Droid faction since as of now there aren't enough Droid characters playable to justify its inclusion. Once more droid characters are added then maybe we could talk about it.
after thinking on it more, I agree. I originally thought that the synergies that I'm proposing would be too OP if it were with all droids, but on second thought I no longer do. All mentions of "astromech droid" in my kit can easily be replaced with "droid".
