Tl;dr:
On my shard we have 14 in our group IIRC, and our methods are simple:
Defend your spot in the top ten whenever feasible, and try not to hit an ally out of the top ten unless there's no other choice. Don't hit an ally for any reason if their payout is coming up, and lock out/bump enemies as often as is necessary to keep them out of the top ten.
We've had players get a good squad and then become hyper-aggressive, serial refreshes and trading back and forth 3-4× with a single player. We return fire 1:1 until they stop, which takes maybe 3-5 days. What happens is, enemies know that whenever they try to move into the top ten, they're just going to waste rounds, the same if they trade back and forth with any of us, so eventually they curb their enthusiasm and only make a move for their payout, which saves us needing to use so many fights. One player refreshing and burning fights won't work against 5-6 of us active at any given time.
We have lockout strategies that call for us leaving a couple of players down near #10, to catch the ones that try for top 5. If they refresh and hit the 6-10, the top 4-5 lock, then when the lock is almost over, we lock the enemy, when that runs its course the top 5 lock again. It's laughably easy to do
This is a prime example of negative collusion so thanks for proving, to some that didn't think it possible, that it does exist...
