Coming back after more than a year... or not?

I quitted the game in January 2016, and a couple of days ago I started again, to see how much it had changed. There are some positive things. For example, the ships tutorial gave me Grand Moff Tark...

I can't imagine starting over. Even more so that I can get palp at 7* in the next few days and if I were to start over, poof all hope is gone.
