This was then picked up by certain youtubers who love to fight with CG and bam a fire was started.Now we have a lot of players shouting 'CG broke their promise!' I'm sure most of these witch finders have less clarity on the matter than I do. And I am totally in the dark.Now, a Hynesy/Crumb stream is being quoted as a source of further broken promises. However, I remember the last Doja/Crumb/Hynesy/Drunk Ranger stream. In that Crumb was very specific.'We don't want to rush gear changes because (blah blah blah rubbish reasons) so here's what we intend to do:In that, he was quite specific. The idea was to make some changes until CG was happy with the balance. The Phase 1 Changes they completed certainly did add a lot of Core Gear relief. I suppose that's what was intended.

It's pretty clear they didn't deliver everything on what they said they were going to do. And they said there would also be additional phases following 'in the near future'. We're nearly a year past that post and nothing else has happened, including the completion of the items listed for Phase 1. If you're in the dark on what was supposed to happen and what didn't happen that's entirely on you because the facts are out there.

I'd say given the impact of the core gear increase we got, they gave us like 75% of phase 1.(1) There's already a couple of shard shop slots that are core gear most of the time(2) Not exactly sure what this one means honestly(3) Most good/new characters end up on nodes without core gear anyway

At least we've moved on from "ok they didn't break their promise" to "this is how I think CG should run their game".

As soon as this happens, i will stop having fun with the game. I like the resource management aspect and i like having fun choosing which character to develop and playing with them. I’m perfectly aware that i will never get them all at max gear (get them all unlocked yes though) because by design, it’s impossible unless you’re willing to pay a gargantuan amount of money. I’m pretty confident this won’t change, so unfortunately, your objective is doomed from the start.

Its not impossible to do free to play.

But it does require they loosen the tightness on gear 8 and 9 pieces... thus moving the bottle neck to gear 12 and 13, where it really should be right now (and honestly gear 12 is easier to get than gear 8 and 9... which is the problem)

I think they need to do a lot more if they want people to max (currently r9, later r10 and more) their roster, considering more characters join the holotables every quarter.

Still, let’s say you’re right (you might very well be, i didn’t do the math) and it will be enough. Then you can be sure it won’t happened because at the moment, by design, it’s not possible. So by doing so, they’ll be changing the game design.

To some people, "collecting" is the point of the game. To others, it's PvP competition, PvE growth, etc. We don't have to all play and enjoy the game the same way.

It's interesting that people are using C-Rancor and the R5 gate when the real R5 gate right now is datacrons. How many people have leveled up a datacron to rank 6 only to find out it doesn't work because Zombie or Pao is G12. Datacrons are not going away and Relic 5 is the new baseline for PVP content.

Farming character shards are of course slow but not really the bottleneck, and after a year they go on double speed.
Gear is the real issue, to paraphrase Frank Herbert “Gear is the mind killer”

Well if that was the official reason I stand corrected. But it’s strange that they cared about collusion in tournaments when they never gave a hoot about it in squad & fleet arena.
