I don't mind the difficulty level. I don't even mind them making half of the GCs tied into new characters or paywalls, although I wouldn't have done that. What I don't like though is that they changed the rewards so that: (1) the character shards are older characters....originally we got shards for new characters, like Greef and Cara when the GCs first started; and (2) we now have a structure where you can complete feats that earn you no rewards....you have to get all the way up to the next tier and, if you can't, you can easily end up completing several feats that don't even increase your rewards at all.

I like the difficulty. Nice puzzle to solve each week, except when a count of a particular ability is involved. This week, the lack of clarity on what counts as a “stun attempt” is frustrating. Is Palps stun 1 attempt or 5. Does Dooku’s double tap basic count as one or two? Does it count on JKL since he is immune? We all have theories, but no one really knows. I’ve done T7 a dozen+ times and can’t tell if I’m close or miles away. Makes an otherwise enjoyable event irritating. - mykdapetSeasoned Novice

The difficulty is fine
The difficulty I don't think is the issue. The issue, at least for a lot of people, is that if you have a 7 tier event, you do expect it to get harder as it goes, but you don't expect to be able to do 1-4 with your eyes closed and then have T5 curb stomp you with impunity. That's the case frequently.
If you have people expecting to get through it with a bunch of toons at 10K power each, then yeah, they're just delusional. But when you have 6 Jedi R3 or better, you shouldn't be getting routed at T5. Now, they may have a reason for this, I mean, I can think of one, but they don't explain themselves the vast majority of the time. If the whole point is so that most people can get through 1-4 (and get something for their effort) and then 5-7 are the equivalent of challenge tiers, so be it, but when you don't say that, it comes across as very poor design. I'd just say, when you stagger tiers, if you want people to invest more in it, you've got to give them a reason. Getting curb stomped in T5 doesn't make the vast majority of people say, "if i just make these guys better, i can get through". It flat out doesn't. It makes them say "screw this". Considering you do not have to do it tier by teir, it comes across odd to call out bad design, when your doing it "not how it was designed" to be done.
I also dont see the need for any "smooth curve design", maybe you can clarify why it would need to be that way, or even should be?
It's a puzzle, not a GP or even gear check. Giving up because you dont want to do the puzzle, has nothing to do with GP. Not everyone likes this kind of element, fine, but more often than not in each GC, gear has not been a hard requirement, strategy and moding the right way with a few key toons seems to be working out.- They are Galactic Challenges, not Galactic welfare or Galactic handouts.

I'm not sure difficult is the correct word to describe this, it's not hard, it does highlight the need for a counter, but this one I though was fun and not nearly as frustrating as others we have seen.
It took me more tries to get the under manned than it did to get the stuns on t7.

The Mandalorian is not a C grade toon.
Beskar Mando I dont believe needs to be relic level, but I cant say for sure until I have tried this later with my G11 BAM, may take him up to 12. I wouldnt quite put him as C grade either, he is pretty solid, just doesnt have a great team yet (although he does work very well in scoundrel teams, but maybe that's just me)
You also work well in scoundrel teams, yes.- i agree with not fun at all. wiered how we got gimmick TW and then 3 ppl complained and it was gone, but this stays around forever
