Fleets in Galactic Challenge: the good, the bad & the ugly

Too many tiers dedicated to the ship battles now. If you don't have decent fleets max rewards are probably out of reach now.

Was able to get all feats using a full Rebel fleet first go.

Hate the change so much. I really wish they could ask for some more community input. On things like this and conquest to find common ground. Built up my Rebels and most teams needed for the Challenges and now I can't even get close to gold box. Ship farming is still one drop and on 5 attempts many times I get nothing. Cmon!

This is just so they can add the feat we all know is coming, "complete battle using executor"

I don't see, how this would potentially be a nerf to our gear income like the OP wrote, but this is by far the biggest idiocy I've ever seen. Bonus attacks left and right, target locks left and right, Ships under stealth are randomly getting attacked, Ships randomly falling from the sky (not really random, they die bc of the dots, just not through attacks, feels random though).
Most of the feats weren't hard, but the stealth feat was on another level. Guild mates mentioned getting everything first try, some even on auto and I had to try like 20 times. Not because my gear is worse. My rebel fleet is all relic (starters at least are and Cassian).
I like ships being added to the Challenges, but these modifiers were just horrible.

The potential nerf is depending on how they balance this. But it’s a fact that the same rewards as you previously got from “only” having to clear missions using characters, we now need both characters and fleets. So that’s a steep increase in required investment for the same reward. But maybe their intention is to keep it balanced on the investment/reward ratio so the fleet challenges will be easier overall. Like they did with last week’s Ewok challenge, since most people hadn’t invested in Ewoks.

I am really concerned to see some of the enemy updates missing. This t10 was nowhere near the equivalent of ground units t10, and I am afraid they will tune up the difficulty.

Apart from this concern this was a nice shakeup for once, I liked it.

I don't like how you can't see the gear levels of the pilots, or the ships, or the reinforcements. What level is the Tarkin and Vader? How much offense does the Bomber have?
Also having Rebels go up against Empire, when half of the Empire ships have specific anti-Rebel synergy is just plain unfun unless you have rebels maxed out

It looks like you might not even need to get 3 rebels into play to get the rebel feat. Not sure if that’s WAI?

I get it. You want to increase interest in the most boring part of the game by making us play it without easing the agonizing grind that is ships. Fine, make the grind harder for everyone by forcing them grind on characters and ships in order to get decent gear they previously only needed characters to get. I hardly expect you all to make things better for the players these days.

Still the mods and feats on this challenge are horrid. Specifically the stealth requirement. Everything dies too fast. Either I win or I lose. Either way there isn't time to get stealth 10 times.

The ugly: why did you replace existing challenge tiers with fleets? Why not add another challenge with fleets or add a bonus fleet tier and give bonus rewards. This is a potential nerf of gear income when adding more requirements to get the same rewards as we got previously.

Hint for max out rewards: malevolence, ht, hyena bomber, geo spy + reinforcement ghost, phantom and millennium falcon

Agreed. I don't know why they couldn't make the additional tiers "bonus" rewards. They should not have replaced previous tiers effectively removing a portion of gear / rewards for me...
