Was really struggling with empire, no worries to get to wave 8, then all my chars would get 1 shotted one by one on the last level as EE went into turbo revive mode. Tried droids as suggested here - piece of cake. Didn't lose a single toon, most even had protection left. If you are struggling, and don't have snowtrooper, give droids a go.
