GA Matching is Fine.

I agree that matching is fine - the only thing making GA anything less than great for me is all the "take my ball and go home" people that refuse to even play it. Winning by default is cool and all, but I'd prefer if people would just make an honest attempt.

I'm not sure what "believing in" slicing means though. It's here, it's not going away. You don't have to slice your mods to 6* if you don't want to, but asking the dev team to pretend the feature doesn't exist because you don't like it is just silly.

I was out smarted and now will only use 3 toon squads on offense to take out weaker defenses

For me, I have 1 g12 character (I'm at 900k), so slicing to 6* doesn't make any sense for me right now. The 100k credits for winning the battles are better for me now than the slicing mats. Eventually, I'll need those mats but I'd prefer to get something I can use now.

Overall, I like GA and believe the match making RNG process is as far as possible. I'd love it if more people would actually play rather than just sign up and collect rewards for not participating, but that's their choice. I'm still having fun thinking about defense and offense squads. GA will definitely improve my TW teams as well. The event is longer than I'd prefer, but I don't know of a better way to do this than they are currently doing so that everybody around the world has enough time to place squads and attack (they've already tried events/windows with less than 24hrs and it cause too many problems for everybody).

Only ppl saying it is fine are the ones getting an advantage and an easy win due to it

Not fine when fleet is excluded and you invest into ships a lot.

Sorry have to disagree. Matchmaking by GP is not fine. I won the last event easily. I was up against a bunch of people who didn't have treya or revan, very few G12s (even one had a zeta CW Chewbacca at G11). Remember GP is just a number based upon what toons are unlocked, their amount of stars, level, ability level, gear level, and amount of mods. Leveling up or unlocking these abilities keeps adding up GP. It does not take into account a character's damage output or the types of abilities they have. A garbage toon will have the same GP as an OP toon if they are the same gear level, same level of abilites, same amount of zetas, etc. So its all just based around did you get the right characters when you started playing the game. And if you decided to invest in your entire roster rather than focus on a single squad at a time and could only gear most of them up to 8, then you are screwed. And if there's no ships in GA and you invested more into ships than characters, then you are done as well. And if you aren't fortunate enough to be able to get the major meta toons right now well screwed as well there. Doesn't matter how many characters you have you aren't taking down a team that cann regenerate health and protection with ease. There was a reason that TW was matched up based on several factors and not GP

What you're saying essentially boils down to 'if you play the game with a PvP focus then you have an unfair advantage in a PvP event'.

Simply activating a ship triples the GP cost of the pilot: character GP + crew power (which is 2x character GP).

Exactly. My clone sergeant pilot + ARC170 ship are worth 62K GP. If I had focused on characters then that would be equivalent (in GP for GA) to 3 heavy G12 all zetaed characters. Furthermore I would have picked better characters than sarge since I wouldn’t have to pick a pilot.

Repeat that for each maxed ship, it quickly adds up. The more ships, the worse shape you are for GA.

Funny thing, we can’t even use ships in this GA ! And even if we could, it’s only one node, in the back, it hardly makes a difference

Edit: sarge ship is actually a very fine ship as reinforcement, it carried me #1 for a while

Only ppl who are complaining are the ones who threw credits into all their toons instead of investing in mods.
