GAC system maybe ?
Why not match people with the same GP for an example if you are between 2 to 3 mill GP u get matched with that GP instead of unfair playing field with the current system

They attack once and win. If you’ve got 7M and your opponent has 2M, this is hardly impossible.
It seems to be a semantics dispute around 'caring', because depending on how you define "caring", you both have a point. Not caring could be 'I don't play and I drop, who cares" or could be "I don't care so I play once in a while with minimul effort, slowly dropping until I hover in far too little ponds for my size".
The problem is, if such players do care enough to win, they couldn't also be dropping by losing. It's made-up.

I spent this last season winning one match per bracket because I didn't care enough to put in more effort......

It’s not a crystal issue, it’s a fun issue at the bottom of the ladder. I have no idea if it happens often enough to be an issue to begin with.

So players that aren't 100% active then stay in higher leagues and have less incentive in playing properly.
What about less successful players that have dropped leagues whilst trying to win?
We see 2 million accounts beating poorly made 6 million accounts frequently every season.
I can see putting a GP ceiling on Carbonite, however any other league defeats the object of a league system.
