GL Hondo, is this a joke??

Hondo is the GL the fandom deserves right about now. Why hate? 🤨

Be positive, Hondo, at least, is a fun character, it could have been worse... it could have been something related to order 66... it could have been Jar Jar Binks eminent senator.

At least minimum, if we consider that a "Galactic Legend" is someone known in the whole galaxy during their lifetime, missing LS GL would be Yoda, and missing DS GL would be "Return of the Jedi Vador"

The problem is not the pirates or the GL Hondo, the problem is that CG told us this was the Revenge of the Sith Era, they gave us an order 66 Raid and then took away all the important ROTS characters and replaced them with Skeleton Crew. CG can't go out of theme like that. This was supposed so be the Raid to celebrate the movie, and yet we can't use our JMK, LV, GMY, Padme, Yoda, Sidious, Emperor Palpatine... Heck, Even the Clone Wars Chewbacca, Tarfull and the wookies, BECAUSE THEY ARE IN THE ORDER 66 SCENE were left out. Give us pirates in the proper time, not like this. This was just greedy, lazy and disrespectful. 

those are some neat GL ideas, but they would depend on the factions, as I think they're trying to not overload one or two factions with a bunch of GLs and journey characters. That would completely remove balance in the game as other factions would be "useless", discouraging interest in the game and reducing interest of purchasing new characters. I'd like to see a GL droid, personally. 

After GL Asohka I thought we would get something cool like  a GL Thrawn with Imp Rem and NS tags,  made sense considering the way they been dropping them in twos, until whatever this is.

The scenes that interest me the most in Star Wars are the ones on Tatooine.  The specific line by Obiwan "You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy." interests me so much.

Living in the Star Wars universe is 'real' and not shiny like Star Trek.  It's gritty and even slightly dystopian.  I find the scoundrel elements, making a living from nefarious gains the most interesting.

I like the pirate era, I guess as pirates go Hondo is the most famous.  He was active a long long time.  I dislike the amount of repeat characters we have.  A rule of thumb to me; if it's not totally clear from the thumb nail which version of the character you're looking at, there's no need for the newer version.

The worst part about it is that rey (Scavenger,  non journey) is a requirement for gl hondo,  and the biggest joke is that she needs to be relic 8 and that there's already 2 relic 9 requirements!

Honestly I'd rather get ugnaut to relic 9 than having to spend 1 credit on rey, bcuz at least hondo dealt with ugnauts in Canon (sw rebels with melch)

 Apparently he also met rey in sw resistance? But let's be honest that's the worst show sw ever had (even worse than the holiday special that shouldn't be named) and will never be Canon to a single fan...

I’m conflicted as there are several good points brought up in this thread. 

On the one hand, I really like Hondo. He’s fun and one of my personal favorites from TCW series. I would have definitely thought he was deserving of a legendary event, but a GL might be a bit excessive. Really I’m just glad the new GL is at least interesting and something boring like Rey or Ahsoka (from her TV show, she’s a great character overall). 

On the other hand, the way CG executed it was pretty stupid. They show horned him and the pirates into the Order 66 raid, a raid he should have absolutely no business participating in. It’s still beyond me how someone really thought that Lord Vader and JMK should not be allowed to be used in the raid. I agree with one of the replies above where CG most definitely should have seen the ROTS era all the way through before jumping ship and focusing on pirates. Honestly, I don’t think people would be so mad at the pirate era if CG didn’t screw over the Revenge of the Sith era in the process. I certainly wouldn’t be because in isolation, pirates are a pretty cool idea for a faction. They just needed to finish their current era first. 

Additionally, the requirements so far are just absurd. Rey Scavenger, a character with little to no interaction with Hondo is required and not only is she required but she is required at R8. Why? Veteran Smuggler Chewie was already a stretch by himself and now they’re doubling down. Also get why GAS is a req, the two have a quite a bit of interaction, but not R9 level of interaction. I could understand maybe R7, but R9 is just absurd. I’m assuming General Kenobi will also be a requirement then and boy do I hope he is not also R9. 

In conclusion, Hondo is cool but I don’t know what the heck CG is cooking right now.
