Gungans?

Are the gungans good or are the mechanics just messed up?

In GAC, you destroy the shield but lose the battle. You submit the battle. Next battle, they get a new shield? Why?

I used new BB. Hunter Marked the shield, immediately one of their guys taunt (or something I'm not sure). My mark goes away and I can't target the shield? Why?  What's the point of mark if not sustained?  It just seems like there are mechanics that should not be a part of their kit and it makes them OP.

  • I’ve always used GAS as counter to gungans. New bad batch I use vs Reva first and malgus second if no Reva.

the reason gungans are able to spawn in a new shield gen is because it works as a summon. Boss Nass has leader abilitie (if all allies are gungan, spawn shield gen). In short, you have to take out boss to get rid of the shield. That’s where GAS come in handy, lots of buffs on gungans. Still target the gen and use GAS armor shred on a gungan.

Slight misunderstanding, defeating Boss Nass doesn't immediately destroy the shield generator, it will only stop another from spawning in on subsequent attempts. Summons only disappear if they're the last unit in their team, like the passive units.

  • Can you even mark the shield generator?  I didn't think you could.  I don't remember seeing it with Mr Revan.

Nass summons the shield generator for the start of the battle.  An old battle is an old battle....Nass has a parking lot full of new shield generators.

I think you'll see Gungans less and less on defence.  However, we'll have to see how they shape up for the next few months with a plethora of datacrons to choose from.

Neither, they aren't a team Id ever put on defence as any competant player will have and know how to use one of the non-meta teams that easily beat it.

  • Some characters apply an undispellable Mark (Jedi Knight Revan, for one), while others apply a mark that can be cleansed (Hunter being one of them).

Also, the shield generator is immune to debuffs, so I don't think you did Mark the shield.

  • I beat them all the time. AOE helps to knock out the shield. I will use a Jedi Revan team if available. Works fine. Stop losing, please.

You just don't understand the gungan kits and what a debuff is. BB2 marks are dispellable, they're not like Revan's. Somewhere in the gungan kits there's also a clause that makes Phalanx Taunt after the generator loses a certain number of stacks in a row or something like that. And Gungans have a ton of mechanics, debuffing the enemy and cleansing their own team. Boss Nass can mass cleanse his team of all debuffs (except the undispellable ones).

The challenge with fighting Gungans is getting around the Taunt to get rid of the shield generator so you can start killing them. BKM is one team that can do it in GAC (BKM has an omicron that allows her to ignore taunt and she can call a mass assist). Great Mothers also deal with Gungans well because with Doom, you don't even have to kill the generator, you just delete the Gungan's protection and brute force the kills one by one.
