Improving the Mechanics of the Upcoming "Revenge of the Sith"-Themed Raid

Hello, SWGoH Developers!

In light of the recent announcements regarding the new raid dedicated to the 20th anniversary of "Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith," I would like to discuss a few suggestions that, in my opinion, would make the raid more logical and engaging in terms of both canon and gameplay mechanics.

Lord Vader as a Playable Character
In the film, the Jedi Temple assault is one of the key moments in Darth Vader's transformation. It would be logical for this character to take an active role in the raid rather than being left out. Perhaps Vader could be a unique character with special mechanics tied to Order 66.

Separation of Light Side and Dark Side Battles
It would make sense for the raid to include phases where the Light Side fights against the Dark Side, and vice versa. This would help maintain the atmosphere and avoid awkward situations where Jedi end up fighting their own allies.

Character Lineup Consistency with the Timeline
Including characters from Season 3 of "The Bad Batch" in this raid seems illogical since, according to the timeline, they could not have participated in these events. It would be strange to see them storming the Jedi Temple. It would make far more sense to use characters who were actually involved in the event—such as the 501st Legion, Jedi Masters, and younglings.

These suggestions aim to improve the authenticity of the raid and enhance the gameplay experience for Star Wars fans. I hope you will consider them in the final development phase.

Thank you for your attention!

I think Lord Vader might be the raid boss and as such CG doesn’t want players to use him

It seems that in the raid, we are supposed to be rescuing Jedi, which might imply that Lord Vader is indeed the main antagonist. However, if CG follows the idea of splitting the battles into Light Side vs. Dark Side, then one possible solution would be to have a phase where players fight against Lord Vader. At the same time, if you're playing as the Dark Side, you should be able to use Lord Vader yourself, which would stay true to the theme and balance of the raid.

  • You certainly mentioned made some interesting suggestions.

I for one am neutral about the LV thing. I mean, I would be glad to be able to use him in the raid, and it does make sense lore-wise, but I'm not really upset that he's not allowed either.

Having separate LS and DS battles would certainly spice things up. However, something tells me it's not likely to happen.

The other required characters is definitely an issue that deserves mentioning. Requiring the new BB doesn't make any sense as compared to the old team. And I for one am getting very annoyed at how many new toons we need every time new content is released. Krayt raid, we only needed Jabba (who is at least permanently available), Maul (the only real issue) and two Marquees. Endor raid required Leia (again, permanently available) and several marquees (fortunately, they were all requirements for Leia). Naboo raid is where the pain begins, as it requires multiple Marquees (POW, MQG, 4 Gungans), a legendary toon (JJ, who only appears every few months, requires 4 marquees at R5), Queen Amidala (a Conquest character, if you didn't unlock her early enough, you lose out on a team for most of the raid's duration). Now, from what we know so far, the Order 66 raid will require the 5 new BB marquees, 4-6 new Era marquees, a legendary toon who will require said 4-6 new Era marquees at relic levels and will likely be on a cadence like JJ, and very likely Jocasta (a Conquest character). It's just ridiculous at this point, having to farm so many new characters just to try and maintain the same rewards every time a new raid is released.

That said, I do hope CG actually takes the time to look at the mechanics for this raid. I don't mind having to wait a few more months, so long as the raid offers a middle ground between being a challenge and exciting and requires actual skill and strategy, unlike the RNG misery that is the Naboo raid.
