I'm not disagreeing but as I mentioned earlier, intelligent or not doesn't he serve in the role of a scoundrel in this game & in Star Wars lore? Purely based on the jobs we have seen him perform? To break laws?
It does.
From canon yes.- Scoundrel is a behavioural tag. Generic droids do not have individual conscious behaviour.
Soldiers kill people on command but that doesn't make them scoundrels. Assassins are not necessarily scoundrels unless they exhibit scoundrel behaviour.
FYI - scoundrel behaviour is lieing, cheating, gambling and stealing. Ig86 would do none of those things of its own accord. - I got one. Why isnt Chewie a rebel?
- Wouldn't breaking the law make anyone a criminal? All I'm saying is he was built to serve the role and job of a scoundrel. Paid, intelligent, or by choice, isnt his only job to perform the same duties as a scoundrel? What else is an assassin droid built for, right?
The only duties we ever see IG-86 doing is those of scoundrels. Never anything else, at least from what we saw them do in Clone Wars. I agree with all your points & they are valid but by choice or not we see him only in the company of scoundrels being one also. - You could literally say by definition of IG-86 being an assassin droid, he is programmed to be a scoundrel more so than anything else we have seen. The why of it doesn't change what jobs he has been seen doing. That's my only point, that he should bear the tag based on his actions not his choices.
- No IG-86 shouldn't be a scroundrel he is just an assassin droid, and HK-47 was created by revan to help kill people who threatened him, especially Jedi so he should have anti Jedi abilities as well but isn't a scroundrel just an assassin like IG-86

Assassin is not the same as scoundrel. Scoundrel is not necessarily killing people. Scoundrel is lieing, cheating, gambling, stealing, smuggling, hustling and other similar things. Ig86 does not behave like a scoundrel. It has no personality at all and that is one of the key aspects of scoundrel behaviour.- HK-47 ideologically aligns with the sith.
- For the same reason boba isn't tagged as a clone
- I see both sides of this debate & they are both sound. Being an assassin droid doesn't brand him a scoundrel but how would you define a scoundrel in this game? A character that breaks the law & does whatever they want in Star Wars? As opposed to being just good or evil?
Even scoundrels could be either. This could honestly be labeled either way but IMO he qualifies as a scoundrel by his profession & his programming to do & be one thing. A being that defies the law.
