For the record, I’m in a fleet shard chat that is cool and let’s everyone in and does not go after people who aren’t in the shard chat. We have one rule, don’t hit shard mates 2 hours prior to the payout. It gives people the ability to get top 5 every day. Shard chats should be about cooperating to work together for everyone not being vindictive and punishing people for not being in your stupid “exclusive” club. That part of middle school I did not like. Sorry

I’ve actually seen this with online poker sites years ago. If you were running certain 3rd party software on your computer the poker site could detect it and block you from playing.

I imagine this is a slippery slope that CG will never go down. Can you imagine them blocking players from playing that have discord or LINE on their computer/phone.

I imagine coordinating with shardmates is something CG will never prevent, whether they sanction it or as you put it call it gameplay. I don’t even think CG has labeled it that last part, but maybe I’m mistaken.

A friend was raging about it and said "it's unethical, it's it's ..." I replied "It's EA". He replied "Point well made". Lol When this happened in HODA another CG mobile, a dev replied (in private) "that's all part of the game". The truth is probably they have no way of stopping it, they would need to monitor the games every payout window, and never get anything else done. So ignoring it could raise revenues by some building stronger teams, and won't cause them to lose noticeable revenues so why be concerned.

Given the current economic trials many are enduring, you just might see your theory tested. Not to derail the thread, but you pose an interesting question. With fewer able to pay, will those able to pay be the only ones playing because the game goes to a subscription model. But that is a topic deservant of it's own thread.

I actually don’t think the current economic situation affects the current model that much. Those that have been spending insane amounts of money on the game aren’t suddenly going to stop spending now because of covid-19.

I thought we were seeing the shift of model when the hyperdrive bundle came out, but that was probably just an effort to entice new players to the game and get them to invest.

I agree, this topic is really interesting to me and probably deserves its own thread, although given how a lot of people act around here, not sure how long that thread would last before being shut down.
