is zader bugged for rancor?

Zader is also useful in other parts of the game. He's good on aat and GW. He's overshadowed by maul on arena, but does well enough. What I'm saying is that even if gets nerfed on rancor he's still a pretty good choice for a first zeta.

Had no issues solo'ing Rancor with Vader lead last night, has something changed with today's update?

He is referring to the fact u had no issues soloing with zader due to the zader bug in the rancor. And as soon as enough people Zeta vader he will be "fixed" and no more solo rancor u will die off early in P2 after the fix.

I see, I hadn't realised that was a bug as I don't frequent the forums so often... and rarely do I enter the pit later than P1. So if I enter in say P3 or P4 I will find it difficult to survive?

Very much it gets tougher - if you enter in a later stage you will want to start at 20% health or lower in that given stage so you can get the TM bonus roll for the following stages. Starting in P3 is particularly tough as you only have 1 rollover TM bump heading in to 4 and the rancor is really fast and does big damage - you can still be killed in P4 starting in P3 if you don't have a well built team in terms of gear and mods with decent speed.

Vader zeta is great and it works great on the rancor. Me and a teammate use him to solo the rancor with sid, ep, rex and TFP. It's also useful for GW and AAT so go for it.

It sounds like there may be a rancor bug/nerf, but more rancor toons aren't really priority. Zader is still good in 2/4 HAAT, which are the exact opposite of normal in terms of difficulty.
