Jedi Consular vs. Bariss Offee?

I have been running a 2 healer team for long time for Light Side Battles, Cantina Squad, Arena, and Galcatic Warfare. I currently run Luminara and Jedi Consular. JC is also my weakest team member primarily due to low health pool.

Currently my JC is
Level 70
5* (4/85)
Tier 8
Ability Level 7-7-6

However, I recently got a 4* Barriss and while it will take probably a week or so to get her to level 70 and 5*. I am already wondering if I should replace JC as a healer on my team with Bariss once she is 5*. I realize Bariss is has weaker attacks than JC and JC can heal more often, but Bariss can still kinda heal (equalize) thru Sidious' healing debuff and she has a larger health pool and is much harder to kill.

Currently my Bariss is
Level 63
4* (16/65)
Tier 7
Ability Level 4-4-4-4

Any opinions on who would be the better choice overall JC or Bariss?

  • These days I only use Barriss for a back up GW leader (which means never) Lumi leads JC heals the small stuff and 3 dps kill the heal blockers asap. She's not good for much else.

If you put bariss in your arena team, its the equivilent of hanging a target on your back. Basically you telling ppl to atk you for a free win.

I have Bariss, Lumi and Daka all maxed out (Sid and Kylo are the other two)

I had the #3 spot in Arena before the update.

Now I reach #7 or #8 if I play -- then drop into the #20's if the AI plays.

I don't think this type of Arena performance warants claims of "Bariss is useless"

But I do agree that you need more speed and attack to get to #1 often.

    Who is your leader?

For GW, Barriss is a great leader. But JC will heal more over time. Personally I run all 3--Barriss lead, JC, and lumi.

Barriss is great for equalizing through immunity, but the cooldown is so much longer than JC I find it can be troublesome to put her in and take JC out.
  • JC and lumi are who I use. Both 6*. JC does 3xs as much damage as bariss and JC can heal pretty much every couple turns.
The only time bariss comes in handy is if you face a team with 2 or more of sid/kylo/IG88.
  • I like JC in the arena, I've been top 10 for a while with QGJ lead with Lumi, Sid, Kylo, and Phasma. Just have to wait what the Sid on the other team does for AI. Kylo has no place in that lineup but QGJ speed Jedi buff will get a Lumi or JC heal before the next big hit.

To answer your question, unless you're trying to get 7* Yoda (and from what I've seen 6* is pretty useless), I'd focus on JC for support and offensive synergies for the overall game and PVP.

  • "Who is your leader?"

    Bariss.

If I get over the first attack wave without losing anyone (or losing just one, but damaging an enemy a lot) then I usually win, as three healers make recovery easier.

If I'm fighting the first 5 or so places in Arena, it's hard to get over the first attack wave without essentially losing the fight.
