I mean you're right. Trust me. I hate the "You need to make it easier" mentality, yet here I am somehow. I have had no issue with any other events or characters. I've worked on all the squads needed for events and grinded those out and nary a complaint from me. When Thrawn came out I didn't have Pheonix in place to knock out a 7 star. Whales did or were able to shortly. Never had an issue with it. Should be a challenge and I shouldn't get it the first go round or even the second, but I should see a path to it that's enjoyable. It's a game so there should be an element of fun. Getting blanked day in and day out on shards and having to do it twice is not fun. Not in the least.
So don't make it easier to get her 7 star. Keep the Vets an RNG nightmare, but let her unlock at 5 stars so you can feel you are getting something out of it. If she wans't so critical for the raid and the mechanics around it then it wouodn't be such a tough pill to swallow. I could work on her as I want without sweating it. I didn't need Thrawn right away. He's in my arena squad now and is very nice to have, but it wasn't a critical component like JTR currently is. If they change the SIth raid so that is less a factor then forget I ever wrote this post.
