Making Up Toons?

I couldn’t be bothered reading all the post about this character but there is a version of this one in swg but also in Star Wars TFA in the cantina I swear I saw one of these droids too

What game company wouldn't jump on the opportunity on creating their own toon?

Not just company, but imagine being a designer and being asked, "Hey do you wanna create a new Star Wars Character?"

I don't know too many people in this forum, who as proclaimed Star Wars fans, wouldn't jump at that opportunity.

I'm sure some folks here, myself included, have made up our own SW characters, either in our head or on paper.

Personally, I think it's pretty cool.

Very few people can proclaim they've made a Star Wars character.

A great thing CG could do to have some interaction with it's player base is have a raffle to let a fan work with the dev team to design a character. Either original or just design a kit for a favorite who might not be in the game yet

100% agree with everything you just said. However, you being excited about a character you created and someone else being excited about it are 2 different things. Some random droid that doesn't have any connection to the larger storyline is just meh to me as a fan of Star Wars. Maybe if I was a fan Derrick the designer I'd be more excited.

MSF did this with Kestrel and Deathpool and hit a home run(s) imo. Kestrel not so much because of the story but because she just flat out dominated the game. Deathpool actually was given an interesting story AND was a top notch character.

Oh, I'm not saying you have to be happy about it, some people will be happy, some wont.

Just been seeing a lot of people making comments as to, "Why would you do this?" which is just silly if you ask me haha

Yup, if given the opportunity I'd love to work with a designer to create my own in game Star Wars character. And I'd whale away fully knowing nobody else would :smiley:

I don’t know, I feel like this is just a way for CG to continue to monetize conquest more and give an excuse why enemy team have outrageous speed and stat boosts. Seems like a sell the solution to a problem. Can’t say I’m not disappointed again :(

If your going to make a starwars toon from scratch, why a random droid with no name, I don’t use ig86 at all, only big benefit I see is the conquest omi which to me is just an aweful thing. Community has been asking to enable all omis in conquest and instead you create conquest specific omis.
If you made this a random toon with gac omi it would have been better received imo.

On a personal level of course it is great for the employee who got his wish come true. On a global level it shows how less Capital Games cares about the desires and demands of their customers.
They could bring Hondo Onaka and many people would love to spend money on him. Instead they create something that nobody asked for and will try to monetize it by making this new toon a dull requirement for future feats.
