That being said, Gear XII likely (with little detail) will be very difficult. Very exclusive. Very bespoke. So peddling back to the gear X (wall 1)-XI (wall 2), XII will effectively be a 3rd wall.
If only 3 of 6 (being conservative) slots require wall-gear, that's ultimately asking for $30.00 per character (ex: used as 1,400 crystal gear), per gear level. IF you were to pay your way through gear, that's a minimum of $90.00 per character. Multiply that by even just your arena squad, and you've netted $450.00. Now XII may be substantially more expensive, we don't know yet. Even with what we do know, do that conservative math.
I guess my whole point is a 3rd wall for gear is too much.
2 gear walls, I get it, you're trying to slow things down, pace the game, and promote longevity.
3 gear walls, and you're talking de-motivation for the mass majority.
And I totally get it, everything is FTP if you save, discipline, and allot over a span of significant time. I'm talking realistic scenarios. Just as there are players who will immediately spend $5K-10K to GXII their whole roster, there are also those who will never spend a dime. Mass majority are those (in my opinion) willing to spend a little for a validating return. I feel a 3rd gear wall is breaking to a lot of players.
Overall, see my original post for my possible solutions. I'm just hoping the devs will consider loosening their hold on some of these pivotal gear pieces' accessibility.
They simply need to change the components for the new gear and eventually raise the bottle neck. For it to start on gear 8 is absurd
