Weren't there character gifts specific to your device? I'm on a Samsung and got an IG-86 at the start. I thought it was cool and immediately thought of what other characters Apple device's would have gotten. I have gotten used to being shunned for not having a particular type of device because I mainly used a Kindle before my Samsung. You can't even get this game on a Kindle's modified Android operating system. Now that is something to think about. And on my daughter's Android, a something-or-other-free-from-Verizon-gift-from-Grandma, she didn't get any type of free character to begin with. I'm pretty sure as someone pointed out, these "perks" are a form of gratuitous advertising from the companies, in this case Google and in my case Samsung.
Now I'm curious whether there was a free character given to Apple Device users. Did anyone get one?
Nope no free toon you guys got the Samsung starter pack also all I got was dark side starter but like you say it's apples fault for not advertising the game really or androids for been clever
Exactly it's either apple lagging behind or Google finding a way to promote themselves.
No, it's greedy EA accepting money even if it means alienating half their playerbase- "Thanks for the offer, but that would be unfair to half our playerbase so we are going to pass."
Of course, that would require antiquated notions such as integrity and courtesy. Nope, gotta squeeze every last nickel out of the suckers for as long as possible. "Qeltar;19709" wrote:

It's called "Marketing"."Qeltar;194349" wrote:

Just kidding, man. :)
No question it's unfair to divide the players like this. It's also unfair that we haven't even gotten any "official" word from the Devs about this. Do we even know if it's true at this point?"Barrok;194448" wrote:

I don't think all the games that are part of Google Play Month are EA games. I have a feeling they picked top selling games that draw the most money/player base to their play store.
Don't bring logic into this emotional fume fest"CPMP;194451" wrote:

It's called "Marketing".
It happens all the time with games on varying platforms"Barrok;194424" wrote:

What about the people who aren't whales that could use that stuff who run droid teams, but play on iOS. Why would they have en event that only half the player base gets to try? This event is perfect for me, but I won't be able to play it.
Because Google Play is having a "Games Month." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMewWjcNTos
Not apple, not windows, not blackberry, but Google.
This is a way for Google to promote their play store.
I think the biggest takeaway from this emotional outburst from some of the players, isn't that Google gets a fancy new jawa event that has terrible rewards but rather it is that the community is so starving for content that they would get so upset about this.
We need more content, and then these small device specific events wouldn't cause such an uproar.
PS: This reminds me of when games are released and the PS4 version gets a different gun on their preorder than the Xbox does. It doesn't change the game any, but people still get upset. Maybe it's not bothering me as much because I am on android. They need to release an iOS one and maybe I would flip ;)
You are missing the point big time here. It may be a google play marketing event but DEVELOPER TIME was invested in an event (content) that for what we know, may be only available for part of the player base. Now, perhaps the event or a version of it will be available for all but as of right now, it is a "google play" exclusive. The entire community is demanding new content and if resources are being used for content that only part of the community can use, it's really bad business."Qeltar;194446" wrote:

It's a company not a charity/non profit. EA is constantly voted as one of the worst companies every year but still get top selling titles anyway. It's obviously not hurting them"InternetSwag;194394" wrote:
I would personally like to thank Reddit for being the community manager of the SWGOH: Forums as well as an MVP poster. You are my favorite CG/EA employee.

Yes. Awesome.- So Jess has said that they have been working "hard". Yeah right! Working hard to get the droids event for Google!
