We used to do this during Marvel's Avengers Alliance on Facebook, when during pvp seasons, you could unlock new heroes by getting enough lockboxes: Set an insanely weak defense. This will allow those on offense to generally win, and earn a decently high rank. Those who want top tier rankings can still get there via hardcore, nonstop fights with beastly teams, but this tactic lets even those who are only average still end up with a lot of shards, if not the guaranteed unlock of Jyn.

While I don't agree this would work, it doesn't really make sense that ppl set the toughest D possible as they actually gain nothing from defense wins. If we gained the points that others lost it would make sense to set tough D. Rank is based on points, unlike arena D.

I don't think the OP understands that setting a weak team for defense will do nothing to help yourself get anywhere in the tourney. It will only help others trample all over your weak defense for an easy gain. CG did away with leapfrogging exploits in tourneys. Unless the OP is calling for everyone to set their defense teams to the weakest team so it becomes exclusively an offense slog fest. Well, more so than it already is anyway.

While I don't agree this would work, it doesn't really make sense that ppl set the toughest D possible as they actually gain nothing from defense wins. If we gained the points that others lost it would make sense to set tough D. Rank is based on points, unlike arena D.

If you set your defense as a gear 11 CUP all alone you will get double points per fight and practically guarantee yourself Jyn

Clearly the OP hasn't done a tourney here. You get prizes based on rank, not points tiers.

If you don't understand his post, he's saying if everyone makes their defense easy, it's easier to get points for everyone and once everyone gets 5,000 points he thinks all 5,000 people on the shard get new 7* toons. Dream on.

The amount of players that unlock Jyn will remain the same, regardless of how many points everyone can acquire. So setting a weak defence only makes the chance you're getting Jyn smaller, since more players will be able to acquire alot of points.

It doesn't make sense to not set your strongest defense possible.
