Prof fleet assist mechanic

Can someone explain the Profitability assist mechanic? Is it a set amount? Is it just rNg? Sometimes (though increasingly more rare) it seems that assists are on the lower end, but other times (especially during Exec counter opens) it seems that assists don't stop until RC is dead, or clinging to a thread of life. With an R8 BAM, my RC is still getting deleted on open, which is ridiculous. Other times, it seems that it gets as many assists as needed so it can get to ult faster against the Executrix/Scythe counter. Tell me again why that was nerfed? I can understand a competitive balance, but it seems like Prof is still the beneficiary. I know everyone worked for those, but did we not work to get Scythe or Exec?

    This from the Prof kit

    This from HMF kit

    This from Rebel Y Wing

Outrider's attacks hit multiple times. And Ghost as a special that calls lots of assists. So there are lots of RNG rolls, especially on those early turns.
  • Don't forget that HMF basic will always call another assist. I have seen from 0 to maybe 15 assists off outrider's first move.

Maybe not completely explained by Ragnarok_COTF above, the profundity 20% chance of assist can happen off any yellow (crit) number you see pop up from an attack. Not just one per attack. So when Outrider does its concussion missiles it is possible for that one attack to result in 5 assists.

If falcon assists Outrider, and then falcon calls Outrider, that's Outrider using an ability on its own turn again, so falcon again has 50% chance to assist. Outrider probably did another 3 crits...

It can really roll on, and that 15 assist I've seen may have only stopped because the enemy ship was gone.

Rebel fleets have always relied on falcon assist rng. Profundity took it to the extreme.

I was really expecting the profundity kit to include chaff and some kind of breach resistance/immunity to counter Executor, but instead they made an rng race to ult.

Giving it such a fast ult (somtimes) is likely to be a headache for future fleets, but that's what they did.

They could make something that dolls out locked Dazes, and that would be the Prof killer.
  • rng, what a lazy mechanic, haha.

I'm probably saying this wrong, but too bad you can't influence ships stats so you can basically counter or have a chance of resisting the increased crit chance. Not just crit hit immunity, but just a better chance of resisting it so they don't tap dance on your behind so much

Yeah, and they nerfed Scythe because it gave something like too many stacks of Formation, thus making it too powerful? Or am I missing something?
