Hmmmm... That's too bad. I'll see if I can get most of it back from memory....
We do actively read the forums. I probably read 100x more than I post. Unfortunately I often don't have time to post until the weekends for various reasons. That may not be frequently enough for some folks but it's the best I can do given everything I'm juggling.
Regarding the couple Dev team members who post on Reddit, please don't take offense to that. They're doing of their own accord and are simply trying to help. The Reddit forum is not covered by Jesse, and as such they are just looking to help extend coverage as best they can to that community.
Some have suggested we're "hiding" from the rancor or the steady stream of insults some folks seem compelled to fling our way 24/7.
Not really. Reading posts which are negative for the sake of being negative (and not constructive) does get tiresome of course. But we care what all the players think and the forums provide an important avenue for feedback.
I'm not going to get into a back-and-forth with someone who's insulting the team (as insane and off-base as some of those posts are). That wouldn't be professional and would ultimately be a waste of time and energy.
People have also raised questions about roles. @EA_Jesse is our Community Manager. He runs the forums and has some other duties. He is the only one on the team whose job includes interacting on the forums.
My job is leading the Dev team. As such, while posting on the forums isn't technically part of my job, I do consider the forums a really important source of feedback which is why I spend so much time reading them.
Hmmmm... This recreated version seems to lack some of the zing and panache of the first draft. Sorry about that. But I think I've covered the main points.
Thanks, all!
Brilliant, while there is a lot of room for improvement in the feedback loop (player and devs) I know it will only get better. It takes time to settle into the cycle and you guys actually seem ahead of the curve on that ground.
Quick question since you are the lead dev, are you considering a beta program? I can see an orchestrated beta solving a ton of the problems present.
Overall good work @CG_JohnSalera
