Should GAC award bonuses for attacking earlier?

As long as you are ok with a lower gl league getting less rewards than a higher gl league, because that's what that would have to be the only legit way to incentivise building rosters. Old GAC benefitted lean rosters and didn't push you to upgrade toons, bus74 had a horrible roster but finished first in the top GAC league because the system benefitted his setup. The skill rating idea is definitely preferable to that, but they have to make tweaks and changes to it

If you can 1 shot every team then you can, doesnt matter if they do it 10 minutes to closing time they still can. If you didnt max banners then you need to reconsider....time is not the issue.

In a football penalty shoot-out the team that goes first wins 60% of the time. This is well researched and simply a psychological advantage that translates into a pretty clear advantage.

It's not self evident which is better, and more likely if you change it you trade one bias for another.

And in the end you will run into your50/50 wall anyway. I doubt any change to this issue will put alot of players in highers payout tiers.

a one time 5 point “first attacker” bonus granted to whoever goes first would be interesting. really wouldn’t make a difference unless it was going to be a tight match anyways but it could incentivize more players to attack first. however, i am happy with the current incentive of the anxiety my opponent feels when they see they’ve been cleared.

So again, alienate the other hemisphere of players because they want to sleep and have normal routines?

It’s beneficial to go first in a race. It’s not beneficial to go first in 21. Neither of these two things have anything to do with SWGOH.

If you find it beneficial to go second, go second. I don’t care when I attack. As Drogon said, if you approach every GAC with the same mentality of securing maximum banners with the most efficient attack plans, when you attack is irrelevant.

If you want to attack second or first, so do. Just don’t expect CG to pat you on the back for it ?

You speak like there's only one way to beat each team. There are counters with higher risk and higher rewards. Do I try a risky solo Wampa for a 68 or a safe team that won't get more than 62? Do I stall for banner recovery and risk timing out or take the win?

Folks acting like there's nothing to be gained from information are perplexing to me.

Now, those who accept that there is value in that information but the psychological advantage of going first outweighs it... well, there's not much to argue because neither of us can quantify anything and we just have different opinions. I haven't seen many taking such a nuanced stance, though
