- Honestly, at this point we have many more Empire/Rebel characters than any other factions. The synergies of those two factions is making the other factions in the game comparably weaker. Many top arena teams on decently mature shards run either an Empire or Rebel leader (save for some of the Zeta QGJ or Zeta Maul teams and the handful of droid teams that remain).
I would prefer some of the other factions were strengthened both in terms of numbers and synergies. Just as an example, we have 12 Empire and 18 Rebels already - by contrast, we have 4 Ewoks, 5 First Order, 5 Resistance, 5 Nightsisters, etc. The only other faction with double digit numbers is Jedi.
I would prefer some of these other factions receive help, as that increases variety and possible synergies to make more team comps viable and/or interesting.
Just as an example, right now NS and FO are simply still just a little too weak to be arena viable - but another character in each, with solid team/faction synergies would be enough to make both groups viable - that would, in effect, make 10 characters suddenly "in play". - There are, because it's the Galactic Civil War between Empire and Rebellion taking centre stage from 1977's original film onwards.
All other details and factions have arisen from sequels, prequels and expanded universe. But the GCW context underpins it all.
In the game context though, there are definite gaps in some factions, and other characters who really deserve to be seen, we've no Black Sun characters about, no SW Rebels characters, a ton of Clone Wars toons possible but missing in action. That CG is looking at KOTOR is a sign that they are looking around the expanded universe for interesting options... - I want Darth Pot Plant and/or Jedi Master Coffee Cup added the game. Guaranteed to be OP and make that toon you dropped a grand on to become quickly redundant.

- Chances are there are more Rebels fans than Empire fans. Sorry folks, that is just how main stream works. So EA will definitely creates more.
- No Ezra (he can burn). No Inquisitor. No helicopter lighsaber-bladers. The others are w/e. Not a big fan of rebels being added.
I would feel alright about Thrawn being added. - I would like Ezra and Kanan. Jedi and rebel synergy. Finally some Jedi that are heavy hitters.
- Rebels are already the dominant faction, and empire is getting a lot of new people as well. So no, they should definitely not get beefed up even more.
- Yes, after episode 8.
- No, too many rebels already, every character (minus Sabine, thrawn, and other CW/movie favorites) are cringy as heII.
