he will probably never go away as long as he has the only leader skill that actually counters speed - which is what the meta of this game is going to tend toward since taking turns / damage is so key.
There need to be more defensive style Rex leaders introduced in the game that counter speed. I agree with @scuba above, it's the TM push and SA that made zDM so strong - the stealth / dodge is icing on the cake. I thought some time ago there should be a leader skill that applies negative effects to the attacking enemy if allies are damaged before taking a turn. For example, if allies are attacked 1 time before attacking, 50% chance to inflict unavoidable ability block on all enemies for 2 turns. If attacked a second time before attacking, 50% chance to inflict offense down on all enemies for 2 turns. If attacked a third time before attacking, 50% chance to daze / shock / stun (could pick any of them) all enemies for 2 turns.
I think you could also implement a power gaining / offense up tactic where, similar to Kylo Ren, you gain defense / offense up till your next turn. This could lead to some very deadly tuant / aoe bomb tactics where you can sit back, eat damage, and be able to unleash some nukes as counter attacks. We need more leaders and skills that counter speed and aggressive attacking.
