I think that’s what a lot of people are getting fed up with, more of them same. Basically we continually farm the exact same people over and over again.

As soon as you get a good roster brewing, the next new thing comes out ie gear level, relics, leveling up toon.... then you start all over again.

I can see people getting fed up with that and leaving.

And yeah the relic system just isnt much fun. You are doing the same thing you were already doing, simming nodes to get gear. The only thing that has changed is cantina where instead of simming nodes for characters you now sim for scavenger pieces.

What I found disappointing was here was this new mechanic that was introduced and there was no new game play from it minus the scavenger which is cool visually. Do relics make me want to quit? Nope, but they certainly have nothing to do with wanting to play. Cant wait to get a node where I can actually use characters just for fun, Blitz perhaps?

Yes they did I'm not sure how it's relevant tho...

Are you implying that people should be super excited that new abilities will be gated behind lvl 7 relics?

In 6 months, or maybe next month, when new abilities hit, they will have maybe 0 or 1 or 2 characters that get a new ability, how exciting!

I'm not seeing the point if mentioning abilities that 98% of players won't be able to access as a positive thing that makes people more engaged.

Monel said there was no new game play, I pointed out that new abilities are coming. That's how it's relevant and I'm not implying anything.

My guild has been mostly solid for over 2 years. Then relics hit and 4 people retired, 2 during TB. And then another guy just up and left during TW because he figured the guild was now a sinking ship.

Here's the main issue I'm having, and why I'm on the verge of quitting. I'm not going to because I want to see what The Mandalorian and Episode 9 brings to the game, but if neither of those delivers, my future here is bleak.

CG have spread resources too thin. I can't farm for Arena, GAC, TW, Hoth TB and HSTR all at once. I no longer feel like I'm progressing because there's no way I can possibly keep up without spending money. And not progressing is the reason I've quit similar games. Grinding gear... IS. NOT. FUN. Relics are not NEW content, it's just stuff that makes existing content more expensive.

If The Mandalorian and IG-11 and Fallen Rey and Lando's daughter(?) and Red-eyed 3PO and Force Ghost Luke and Kylo's Rotting Corpse are as bland and boring as the Solo content was... I think my Guild is going to lose its leader.

I quit the game Sunday, it stopped being fun months ago.

What fun is it to fight the same team composition in arena?

I loved the game when any characters were viable to compete in arena. As a person who spent countless hours each day, I had 83 characters at gear level 12. Could I use them??? No, I need Darth Revan and Darth Malek. Who the freak are these characters in star wars and why do they have no counter teams? So unbalanced. So unenjoyable.

Let's talk about gear grinds, every character I had that wasn't leveled to gear 12 needed the same stupid peice of gear. The elusive stun gun. What moron decided that? (Uh oh, I'll be banned again for insulting the game programming). Now let's keep adding more exclusive gear to level up to gear 13. Oh, you got 5 or 6 characters now at gear 13, let's add a relic. Oh, you only have 3 characters with the relics after you cashed in 9712 pieces of unneeded gear, that they will proudly reward you 30 more pieces of it on "your hard work for that raid".

Why can't they reward needed gear?

As for people leaving. I am one of 3 of the top 20 who left this week in my ship shard. I was in the top 3 for ship arena for over 2 1/2 years. All left for the same reason. "Relics"

New players will have more fun until the hit the meta wall.

I agree the gear crunch is rough (and CG "helping" us by saying less stunguns are needed...while adding kyros, one of the worst bait and switches ever), and rewards are really bad

That is fun for a while. I have/had two alts. One Gearing up for DR after having gone the old school route of phoenix->Vader/Thrawn/->R2->CLS->JTR etc etc. And one that just got JTR. Both were doing much better in their respective shards than my main account ever will (One year of ignorance lead to being too far in the hole by the time It occurred to me there were places I could look online to see how other people played the game) but after you've gotten to a point, it's just another account to log into. After a while it begins to feel like playing slots or something. Just pull the handle click the multi-sim button, and see what comes up. repeat in another area until you cannot. Now log out and do it again with a different name and less stuff unlocked.

When swgoh gets boring for me, I download a casino slot game. Vegas slots, it does a great job replacing the dopamine when your out of sims in swgoh.
