Time to "movie farm"

That's complete BS. only p2w or the most advanced players will have a maxed FO team. With CLS, thrawn, and farming for TB, there hasn't been time to focus FO until now. before bb8 there wasnt any reason to have any of them farmed. It is probably too late, but still a good time to start.

There was absolutely a reason if you predicted that they would be needed around now because of the movie coming out. Which wasn't a particularly hard call to make. If you chose other priorities then own that decision (and I don't subscribe to the "no excuse" attitude folks get around here), but don't claim that only paying players could have done it because that's nonsense.

If by "maxed FO team" you mean g12 and zetas, that really has little to do with spending or anything else. The people I know who have that are people who just like FO and decided to devote their resources there.

Sorry, but this is false. Last January/February, after enjoying some Rogue One, I realized that come next December there would be new First Order and Resistance toons with the new movie, just like they did for the Rogue One toons. That's when I started farming them. Just a few hard nodes each day. Got plenty of energy refreshes to do that from crystals won in arena. I believe I had a full 7* First Order team around April/May timeframe.

First Order Officer was an easy gear and I built the team also hoping they'd be good in tank (they aren't, at least, not compared to Resistance). I think I completed them sometime before Phoenix was released as ftp. I was then able to panic farm Phoenix and Old Ben for Thrawn and CLS. And of course, this was long before TB.

You have a point. There's been a lot to do with the releases since this last summer. This is why the time to farm First Order was last winter, when we realized from Rogue One that the movies would bring something this winter.

I took the hint of farming FO, when Phasma was login toon. That was in august/september. With some panic farming I was able to get 5* BB-8. After that have focussed only on FO and Resistance because of the upcoming movie.

No excuses, just dont care about generic protest squad

I'm glad I farmed phoenix team and Rogue 1 for Thrawn and TB, instead of focusing on a speculative FO team. If I don't get whatever comes with december, I'll be happy with Thrawn and chaze. On the other hand, if I give up on Thrawn and TB for a speculation and then that speculation turns out to be wrong, I would bang my head against the wall. So yeah, we had time and some of us chose to wait until finishing other (more realistic) projects. I'm also ready to get CLS if he ever comes back. I won't get Jedi Rey because of that, well, I can live with my decision.

I was somewhere in this realm, except I had literally 0 shards of kylo, FOST, or FOTP so I only got unlocks and some extra in that time. I did however start Res/FO right after in addition to having already been spending on Res trooper with guild coins after finishing jyn erso.

It doesn't sound probable. Veteran Han won't be in the new movie, for reasons that should be obvious if you have seen the previous movie. I don't know why people keep begging for p2p toons to be a requirement.

_Predicting_ they will be required is very different than "begging" for it. I agree it's likely that the Vet Smugglers and BB-8 are going to be required to unlock something. Hero's Journey Rey is a great candidate. It could make the Rey event a detail-by-detail clone of the CLS event. This idea is about the only thing that remotely explains why the Vet Smugglers exist at all, IMO.

Anyway, I expect the Rey event won't show up until a week or two after the Vet Smugglers are F2P farmable. But I'm tossing a few extra crystals their way when I can in preparation.

In terms of gearing for legendary events, some good advice I have a hard time following myself is to grind the gear the required toons need, but don't apply it to them (beyond g7/g8). Try the event a few times without the gear. If you feel you're way overmatched, bump one of the toons up to the next gear level, and try again. Eventually the extra power or RNG will let you win. The rest of the gear you saved up can be distributed to other toons (or better, saved for the next pending event).
