- We went up against a guild that was known to do this so we trolled them. We tanked defense with 30k power teams to guarantee a tie. Basically took them down with us.
The thing is though I’m not convinced that this method being discussed is an effective tactic anyway at higher levels (I understand how it is at lower levels). At our level (125 mil GP) everyone has maxed teams already. A 140 mil GP just have more of them. But if they drop down they might actually have fewer meta teams. For example, if they drop down 6 players we might have 50 meta resistance teams where they now have 44.
I’m not saying this as fact, I’m just saying none of us have enough data to really say which is more advantageous. I’m sure the developers have this data, and probably know the percentage of time a guild with fewer players wins. I wish I could see this. - And as for a “fix”, I think we just need to get rid of the registration period. I think it’s silly. Getting everyone registered is a chore in inself. You would think it would be easy, but we’ve had someone missing in about half of ours, even though they were online and got their 600 done.

It was already stated - matching in this game is just an issue. It's already been shown that a guild with, and it's only an example to illustrate, 50 players x 50 toons x 6000 gp each could never over come 50 players x 25 toons x 12000 gp each.
There is no overwhelming far superior forces in this game. TBH, if unprepared, a weak guild is unlikely to be able to kill off a single CLS and crew on defense if it's too far above their heads, no matter the number of toons they have.
In all likelihood, matchmaking will rarely match up in a way that would be truly fair.
On the flip side the #2 rewards are close enough to the #1 it barely matters.
+1- This "exploit" doesn't make sense.
If my guild wins, I get 2 zetas. If we lose or tie, I get one zeta. (106 mil GP, every TW is a tie for us)
So I could get 1 zeta each week with a tie, or sit out every other week and still average one zeta per week, but get about half of the other rewards.
Though, that's not actually correct. If my guild dropped down a bracket, we would only get 1 zeta for a win every other week and effectively cutting all other rewards by half. Who would do this? "ProximaB1_;c-1418476" wrote:

They are only sitting about 5-10 players. If 10 players sit out you would get 8 zetas every 5 tws. Compared to 5 if you tied on all tws. P.s. you should try heavy defense on tw I'm in a guild that has 109 go and haven't tied since the beginning. If your clearing the board on offense you don't have enough defensive squads.
Still, each individual would not participate in all five TWs and therefore would not get 8 zetas. Over the course of those 5 TWs, you would lose 350 guild tokens, 75 event tokens, etc.
If the entire guild participates in all of them, and you manage to win just one, the total rewards come out better."Hannibal_Bexus;c-1418453" wrote:

uh, no?
1 win, 4 losses = 6 zeta's * 50 = 300 zeta's equally distributed
5 wins = 10 zeta's * 40 = 400 zeta's for the entire guild

It is not an exploit, it is poor planning and poor programming in the attempt to make you spend some more money in the game somehow. You should get used to it.
How tf would this encourage spending?
Not everything is a conspiracy. Geez...- Anyway. those protecting the current system are either thick or protecting the exploit.
The guild GP should be locked regardless of participation. If guild.memebers arnt active enough to join TW then they are likly not mKing tickets either and should be replaced.
simple fix. But lets again watch those abuseing the exploit come in and defend their easy zetas. - It’s refreshing to see some guys openly admitting their guilds use this technique of benching players to compete at a lower tier.
So many daydreamers here thing this sort of thing doesn’t happen. Of course it does, wake up people.
