Was I cheated for crystals?

Well what happened when we only had weekly divisional changes?  Are you saying it worked the same, but only at the end of the week?

I must admit I don't change divisions very much and not for a while.  However, I have never noticed a change of division applying after the first match.  I feel sure I got demoted to K3 when squish was applied (when it got really severe).  Hmmmm.

Now that you mention it.   There have been complaints in the past from K1 where players have won, but still been demoted.  I presumed this was the last game of the season and were demoted when squish was applied.

I'm probably wrong though, this is normal and your division will change (as we thought) after the first match.

Divisions only change after matches. This is how it’s always worked. Squish won’t change your division until after the first match. 

Squish was applied correctly (see 3.  Seems a huge amount though).  The idea of squish is to push everybody towards the centre of the league.  That way during the season when things spread out, it can be reset and leagues/divisions stay constant. 

As I said, you were correctly given +111 points as your squish, almost a weeks worth of wins!  This is to push you towards division 3.  The weird things is your division wasn't recalibrated.  I've only ever played in Kyber or Aurodium, and I believe that the division has always been calibrated before the season starts.

AFAIK the order of things is usually:

1. Season finishes.
2. Div 1s are promoted, div 5s are demoted to their new leagues (apart from Kyber 1 and Carbonite 5 that have nowhere to go).
3.  Squish is applied.
4. Divisions (but not leagues) are altered depending on the new skill point rating after being squished.
5. New season starts.

1, 2, 3 & 5 happened for you, but 4 did not.  poodleboots47​  wrote that this isn't out of the ordinary.  If so, it appears that they're continually fiddling with the formula and things are not applied the same for all leagues.

It's probably a squish thing, but it could be yet another bug.  Everyone loses points every new GAC, but in this case you usually start where you were at the end of the last one.

It seems like my first opponent has the same rank as me, and is also Carbonite 5, so it might be a squish issue.

So, I'm looking at your account.  Yup, it's very strange.

August 3rd you won your match going from 1428 - 1465 SP.  You were promoted to Carbonite 4.

August 4th you lost your last match of the season, going down to 1429 and were demoted to Carbonite 5.

August 12th squish was applied and you gained a whopping 111 points taking you to 1540.  As I understand it, your new division should have been applied after the squish.  

I wonder if your new division will be applied after the first round match up.  Or possibly due to the distribution of players this season, promotions didn't apply due to the lack of players in carbonite 5 (but I really doubt that's the reason).

It would be interesting to know if your new division is applied after your first match or not.  I think it will probably promote you to Carb 4.

when this new round started everyone rating changed but placement does not adjust till after the first match is over I have had time where I lost and got promoted or won and got demoted because of the shift

Visual error? 5 crystals won’t break the bank, but it might be worth putting this up in the bug reports to get someone on it. If this keeps happening in higher arenas, the crystal drop could seriously upset players.
