I find doing 20 battles with VetHan and KRU not that of an issue. Just put them together with BAM Han Chewie and you can use that team to farm Sector 4 Tusken Node for DC materials.
It’s not that it’s an issue as such, it’s that you can’t really farm any other feat whilst using that team.
There can’t be any debate that it’s a great help to earn that disk on a node and save yourself the trouble of using that team 20 times.
I would agree with you on that before DC farming became a thing for conquest. Before, it was mostly about which teams I can efficiently use to complete as many feats as fast as possible. But now with DC farming added to conquest, you can (and should) actually do most of the feats as a by-product of DC farming. It is now much higher priority to know which teams you can efficiently use to beat the bonus nodes. And in that regard BAM Han Chewie is a great team. They can beat the Tuskens on Node 4 on auto within 3(!) seconds when paired with the right disks. So my point is, there is no need to overthink about what other feats you can accomplish with VetHan/KRU. You just throw them with BAM/Han/Chewie when farming DC mats. That's all.
I understand what you're saying and in theory I agree, but I don't see any reason for myself to spend even more crystals for refreshes and the accompanied grind. Especially not for DCs. I need those crystals elsewhere and one already has to use a good amount of crystals just to be able to finish Conquest. Spending even more for temporary stats is a no go for me.
I know that's what CG wants, but at least with me it had the opposite effect. I didn't even spend crystals this Conquest for a "normal" refresh to be able to progress further/finish sector 5, because I just don't see the point in spending even more for even more grinding. I lost interest.
It's too much grind and too many crystals for not the right amount of what I would get out of it. The temporary nature of DCs paired with the fact that you only get a percentage back when they are dismantled turns it into a bottomless pit.
I'm totally with you on everything you said about DC. And for sure you remember me being an avid datacron skeptic in this forum. But I still like competitive GAC, so somehow I have to stay engaged with datacrons, even if I don't like them.
In terms of spending crystals farming datacrons, this is the only thing I disagree with you. In this game you collect crystals in order to spend them and not just for pleasure of looking at them hoarding up on the screen. What is important is how you spend them wisely.
Just a personal F2P example: I currently have around 30K crystals saved up for Profundity 7* unlock. At this stage of conquest, I don't really need to refresh conquest energy anymore to get the red crate. But still I refresh daily the 50 and 100 conquest energies just for DC farming. And I'm still pretty much in balance with my crystals. And if you can afford it, investing crystal to refresh conquest energy is not a bad investment. Actually, imho it is currently the best investment choice for crystals in the game, given the impact datacrons have now on GAC.
But the value of crystal refreshes on conquest energy will change depending on what you have in your inventory.
After the first conquest with these rewards I already had a lv9 Darth Vader, lv9 Lord Vader, lv9 Dash Rendar datacron, as well as 2 more lv6 Empire CD reduction and 2 more lv6 Grit datacrons. I'm not sure what else I could possibly want from the current set.
This time around, I don't think it is a good return on my crystal investment and I won't refresh conquest energy again. I've only got 11 battles left for red crate, so I'm a bit annoyed with myself for not stopping the refreshes earlier.
And I fear this might become the norm with the slower release cadence on Datacrons.
That's why you have to make wise investments. Don't overinvest if not necessary. Like you said, everyone's situation is different.- Currently using 4 green and 2 blue Amplify Agony discs for the lulz.
