What makes this game "fun"?

Recently I have been asking myself the question "How am I having fun with this game?"

I used to love collecting characters and making unique teams, but with the love of new characters is tempered by the fact that every new character will sit at lvl 1 until I finally get my current roster up to lvl 80. The challenge of making new teams is limited by the lack of new levelled characters, but it also is inhibited by the need for resources. I could make a new, fun team, but the high level competition in this game is prohibitive to experimentation, since I could potentially lose GW or Arena rewards.

So I'm sitting here wondering, "If I didn't already invest time and money into this game, would I even bother playing it anymore?"

Is anyone else feeling this way? And how can we ask the devs for ways to change it?
  • For me, it's because its a mobile game. I can play it when I can't play other things. This game doesn't do anything unique but be Star Wars. Maybe that'll change with future content patches!

Open the app, spend my energy by using sim tickets, noticed I didn't get anything, and move on. I easily get the 600 guild tokens and rank around 50-100 in Arena without much effort (expected to change with time). It's pretty great for loading screens when I play larger games, too!

So! The fun comes from it being so casual and mobile. And, whenever I open my roster it's kind of fun to think that maybe one day I'll have a good squad that I'm happy with. I also like to see new characters and scrolling through the forums. I think I read the forums more than I play the game...

I have no answer to this question, it's a class A drug, we do it because it's what we do

    Probably very accurate
