I would like to propose a different approach for TW matchmaking. As it is it's GP vs GP and a lot of guilds have a +10 win streak while others have 10+ lose streak. Now something like a win/loss ratio would better reflect the real power of the guild, sometimes people are sick others are more casual and other times it takes time to adapt to a strategy.
I would propse a elos system : Two players with equal ratings who play against each other are expected to score an equal number of wins. A player whose rating is 100 points greater than their opponent's is expected to score 64%; if the difference is 200 points, then the expected score for the stronger player is 76%.
So you get first matches randomly then the winers go against eachother and the losers go also against eachother, when you win it gets harder, when you lose it gets easyer
see asume there are 40 ppl in a 150m GP guild but 10 of them just don't put effort in TW, they setup defense but not many wins, in time real power guilds could be matched against equally real sized guilds irelevant of GP,
The most depressing aspect of this TW matchmaking is that after you lose 3 times in a row you get pined to a much higher GP guild with more gear and new toons and you just know there is no way to break trough, this shouldn't happen
So in a elo system - before a season's end you would get 1 guild that wins 100% and 1 guild that loses 100% but since the matchmaking is based on win/loss ratio, the more you win the harder it gets while the more you lose the better chances you get, you see there are a lot of guilds that do HSTR but only have say 45 members active in TW (IRL gets in the way all the time on different random people)
SO how about abuse? Well an elo system would help with this as well, going 48 vs 50 might get you a win but the next time around you will get a more dificult matchup
So I keep hearing about guilds that win 11 times in a row and then get an easyer GP guild then last time, I feel liek this is the very definition of unfair, it's super demoralizing and it makes more players give up on TW. When my guild started TW we were all pumped for it, all ready and drawing maps, but after 10 -12 losses in a row the interest is bottom shelf, we even have guys randomly forgetting to register for the free zetas despite the messages and PM's. We have replaced many people so far but this ratio seems to stay the same 1 new guy comes all happy for it and then another guy just says it hates TW the next time...it's just like super depressing, please do something to matchmaking even if just for the bottom 20% of guilds that lose more then 5:1,10:1 I'll take even 20:1
