Why is everyone suddenly running Lumi?

I was running a Lumi lead with Fives, Rey, RG, and Leia and was able to keep consistently in my arena's top 20 ... I recently switched her out for St Han and have been able to break into the top 10 .... She is a great character and definitely underrated ... but for arena there are probably more effective choices (at least for those who want to move up in rank ... just running whom you like is also a valid factor, imo).

Depends on when your shard started. If it's still early, then you're likely to see Lumi. My shard is from November and there is a lot of EP, ANI, HK-47, and Rex floating around top 100.

It's weird ... on my server some squads top 20 use her. I always won against compositions using Luminara because she is a weak link in the team. However, in a recent battle AI used the skill block in my QGJ and made my life a LOT more difficult.

But I think it has players who really like the Luminara. Some of these teams had Luminara omegaed and gear X.

Probably this - but it depends on the age of your server and who else they are trying to beat. Her ability block sticks well - and if you have a tuanter, and she can heal him - you may be okay for a while.

Unfortunately healers are useless beyond a certain point, as the DPS is simply way to high for them to compensate in any meaningful way - especially since the best MO is to focus on one enemy at a time.

Although against AoE teams, strong healers may actually serve a useful function again...maybe. Hmmm.

If I saw a lumi in arena is attack that team instantly...I'll let that tell you if lumi is any good now.

Only time I saw an enemy Lumi be useful was when I wasn't able to kill someone and RG taunted, then Lumi healed them to full.

She is underrated. her dodge lead can surprise an unsuspecting player. Her attaacks do decent enough damage and although heal has become an underperforming power after protection and mods, hers is the best in the game. If they rework healing in general to become more useful, she will automatically adjust to become even more useful.

She may not be top dog, but she's good enough to have some fun with.
