Many a times EA comes up with events to excite us and add flavour to the game. Some are great, the omega mat event for example, I enjoyed having daka omega'd at level 75ish... However most times, I think events are a distraction(u can read more about max/min in my other posts) This article is not for the P2W, Before you read on, pls do not comment that it is a waste of ur time, common sense, flame, etc etc... Stop here and move on. Back to point, I have only one scoundrel, that is chewie, as with almost everyone in the game. This event is a waste of time for me as I will have to raise and build up a scoundrel squad from scratch, it may cost me circa, 5 mil and countless shards to make my squad ready to gain that 1mil a week.... The ROI is not worth it. The event is just a distraction, as with most events, to spread myself thin, as I only have limited resources to spread over my roster. A mil credit costs about 1000 crystals, which is 2 days work from ranking 1st in arena daily, so I will not be distracted, and considering that my roster is so lean, I will not benefit from the 1mil reward anyway, galactic war + credit challenges takes me to approximately 850k, so as tempting as the 1mil sounds, I will not be fooled. costs 5 mil, rewards 850k per week. break even in 6 weeks. How is that ROI not worth it ? you planning to stop playing after 5 weeks?

U know that the event returns weekly...so u can do 1 mio per week, thus after 5 weeks u will have ur expenses covered. And doing + from there on.Also if im right, the game isnt meant to only collect 5 toons and mainly doing arena.But everyone shall play how he likes- i for one wouldnt play anymore if it would be all only about arena.

I believe the devs said that there is scoundrel event comming like 2 months ago. I managed to gather 330 shards of both Cad and Greedo since then without sacrificing anything. They just sat locked waiting for the event. I also had time to gather enough shards of Lando and Boba.I agree that for some players building scoundrels right now, just for the event would mean too big sacrifice, but in general its one of the most benefitial events in terms of ROI. As soon as one's arena and GW team are set, one should focus on scoundrels. The sooner the better. Extra 1M weakly will help a lot with building other heroes. And 5-6M investment is nothing compared to investments needed for some previous events.

only focussing on arena toons might not be the best thing in the long run. Meta shifts, lvl cap increase etc etc. Deeper bench and more credit income supports your arena performance over time.

ROI is fine. I don't like people telling other people this event is poop because they can't do it. Let everyone decide for themself if it's worth it
Events like these are great, it gives everybody a reason to explore different classes and characters. And gives you something to work towards. Which eventually will lead to more diversity on the other platforms like gw, arena and raids.

And this is hardly an article :)

Exactly right. It's the opposite of a waste of time, it's putting resources to good use for long term. Also you are not required to do it, so if you choose not to, there is no time or resources wasted.

I was able to beat scoundrel event so it was totally fair and awesome. I don't have five empire or droids for ewok event if that's what we need so that event is totally unfair and not awesome at all and is catering only towards the whales.

Leef, surely you are aware that there are rewards for investing in other aspects of the game. Consider the person may need to continue to invest in arena or begin to suffer a loss of crystals earned. In six weeks, the amount of potential for cystals lost could dwarf the reward you speak of. Your simple evaluation doesn't do the situation justice.

currently my arena team is pretty much maxed. Before that i was only waiting on raid gear. Furthermore, having 5 insanely good characters, but the rest is mehh will hinder your progress in the long run. If you cant finish GW, you're screwed.
Personally i'm working on a scoundrel team, the sooner i can get those extra credits the more benificial it becomes. It wont influence my arena rank at all, but later on when the meta shifts or the lvl cap increases i have more oppertunities te stay competative.
