Why was I relegated to Kyber 2?

But wasn't the original skill rating supposed to be based on GP alone? #7 has 7.5M, I have 7.4M, and #5 has 7.3M,

Why is my new skill rating less than #5's? I have (and most likely had) more GP than them at the start, and we both had one win.

It really is not a big deal that I was relegated, but to me it seems like bad math.

The order of your wins mattered. Guy who won in 1st round beat a higher SK and therefore lost to a higher SK at least in round 2.

I think that's what's happening.

Same thing happened to me, I expected to be relegated eventually because I am at exactly the wrong GP to qualify for Kyber 1 at start, but to not have solid enough defenses to face any enemy teams. But if only the bottom 10% are relegated, shouldn't all 0-3s be relegated before any 1-2s?

I got two full clears (and then helllllllllllllla biffed it in round 2 against a guy with three Legends and 300,000 more GP) so I feel like I should be higher than 10% considering the number of players who are likely to have autoset or to have done minimal engagement?

The bigger problem, though, is that my reward for winning the third round was a Kyber 2 payout. But since the battle happened when I was Kyber 1, shouldn't I get the full payout? I collected my event rewards before I thought to check if they were Kyber 1 or Kyber 2, so I'm not sure of that. But I for sure noticed that I didn't get 900 crystals for my win ?

Can we get some confirmation on what's going on before CG goes on holiday?

Yeah, this is trash.

If you're not bottom 10% of your...whatever...you shouldn't be moving down. If you're not #8, you're not in the lowest 10% since you've got 12.5% of people that didn't win anything.

On top of that, you have a large number of people (though it may be a small %, we are not allowed to know) who didn't even register for the event. People who register and win at least one battle are treated worse than people who can't even take the time to sign up?

A: Players who miss a GAC Event (the 3-round, 8 person pool) will lose Skill Rating as though they had lost 2 times against an identical Skill Rating opponent (aka this gives 1 match of "miss forgiveness"). If a Player reliably misses GAC, their rating will drop each time. -shortpaw

That was my point earlier. They didn't drop. At least not yet. Whether they were supposed to drop at the end of the first week or not I'm not sure, but the Q/A made it sound like they were supposed to. Right now active players are getting demoted while inactives get to hold their position. Of course assuming they fix it and inactives start getting demoted over time, I'm not sure what you do about them clogging up the lower divisions. Do they pull them completely out the equation at some point? What if they decide to come out of retirement? Won't that be fun for the guys in the lower divisions when a former Kyber1 retiree makes a comeback with 6gls vs none! :)

Similar thing happened in my bracket: I finished 5th (1 win, 2 losses) and have been relegated yet the player in 6th with same record but having scored 33 banners less over the 3 matches hasn't been relegated, and the player in 8th with 0 wins also hasn't been relegated - wtf?!

Checked my bracket. One guy with 2 wins lost in round 1. He has the lowest SR of the 2-win folks. Makes sense the guy with 1 win that won in round 1 would therefore have the highest SR of the 1-win folks

So, explain to me how in my bracket I finish 5th and get relegated but the player in 8th with 0 wins doesn't get relegated?? :|

Also interestingly, those that didn't sign up for GAC at all for the first round are still sitting pretty at their initial skill rating. No relegation. Maybe that will change after the entire tournament. Who knows...
