With this update, is Cad Bane now viable?

Erm, free double tap? Deflection is the ability to resist special damage. This change does almost nothing for Cad. Are you thinking of retribution counter attacks?

Someday he'll get his ship, the Xanadu Blood, and maybe a rework. But yeah, he is still really bad.

and yet i have him at G11 :)

I'm currently farming him despite how bad he is. He's one of a few characters I must have.

Cad Bane is absolutely competitive on a full Bounty Hunter team. I run Boba, Cad, Dengar, Zam and 88 and place top 5 everyday on a launch shard. The 100% stun + tm removal is an incredibly powerful move, add crit chance + damage to Jedi and he's very useful against Kenobi and QGJ foresight teams. There are certainly other characters that could replace him at that position, but remember that removing him for a non-BH means losing at least 30% max health for ALL other Bounty Hunters in the squad, so it really has to be a powerful replacement to make up for that.

I agree - Cad is a decent toon. I farmed him out a long time ago but left him at g8 with some lame mods on him for now. I run him under Boba with 88, Lando and STH for my scoundrel squad until I can get Zam and Greedo up to speed. But - they get me what I need for droid smuggling and credit heist, and I'm in no major hurry to focus on the other bounty hunters at the moment.

Yes it does make him more viable. Before Cad bane didn't give evasion against characters that are popular like sid, dn, Qgj (both special attack) now it does.

More viable doesn't mean he will beat out any other lead though
