Yoda challenge sucks

As a very weak P2P player (less than $20 into the game) I normally side with the f2p plight. But I think you are WAY off base here.

1) They DID announce it a week in advance - which is more than most games do. And now you know for next month.

2) Players that pay SHOULD have an advantage and get stuff sooner. If they didn't, what in the world would be the incentive to pay? A p2p player should ALWAYS be stronger sooner than a f2p player if both grind and play the game intelligently.

3) Jedi are not severely weak. I have a 7* Lumi, and 6* JC and 6* Ahsoka - and I can pretty much throw anyother of my stronger toons in with them (usually Sid and Dooku or Sid and Phas) and they romp and stomp in GW.

Lumi is the only Exception, the Jedi available at launch all sucked idk if you been playing since the first day the game released & by available I mean farmable im sure Old Ben & aayla are beast but I cant obtain them unless I pay so to me besides Lumi your giving me an edge using jedi. & I clearly said they announced it a week in advance, but they shouldve announced it a month in advance to allow players to get there teams ready. From what im reading only p2w & guys that farmed Jedi when they were terrible can get yoda. Because acouple months back guys were saying how they regret farming jedi then this happens. This event shouldnt be jedi only either its the FIRST event it should be open to all of us so we all have a shot at getting a new character instead of it being solely jedi base this entire event was built around the jedi bundle so they can cash grab & make money.

In regards to the bolded - of course it was. That's why this game exists.

I have been playing since mid-December (so no, not first day or even first month). When the event was announced I had 3 Jedi already 6* or 7* (Lumi, JC and Ahsoka) + 3* QGJ and 3* JK Guardian and had just started farming Eeth Koth from arena shipments. That's five 3* Jedi.

So wait until next month if you don't want to pay. I don't see the problem. The only way this actually effects anything in your game experience this month is in arena. All the other aspects of the game are unchanged for you (and me - and others who won't get Yoda this month).

If you think the other Jedi suck, then I can't help you. If you go to SWGOHCantina.com and sort by GW ranking, JC is 3rd. Fully geared and leveled he can heal everyone multiple times a battle. He, behind Lumi is one of the best healers in the game. Ahsoka is greatly underrated, imho - she's an attacker who self-heals and group heals and is one of the only toons who does both simultaneously. Yes, JK Guardian sucks - but there are others - Eeth Koth, QGJ, and anyone you might have been lucky enough to pull on Chromium.

From what I have read so far, you can't go in with any 7* Jedi. The 6th and 7th fights look pretty tough. One, maybe two you cannot farm.

This kind of post is reflecting a really lazy mentality. Why make any effort in getting the requirements for a challenge? Let's just complain and ask to be allowed to unlock the character with what we already have. Hell, why do a challenge? Let's just ask to get the character as a freebie the next time we connect to the game.

You only need a team of 5* Jedi to unlock and the event is going to be repeated regularly. You're mad cause you can't 7* him in 10 min. Either grind the toons or throw enough money at the game to unlock them.

No Im not mad because I can't "grind" lol. The event is lazy because there is no challenge other then having 5 7* Jedi that are geared enough to beat a singular yoda 7 times. Ita lazy designing and an effortless thought for an "event". This "event" is running for a week and it has literally 1h or game time to complete. There is no strategy, no trial, no thought, just a new character model used 7 times and a different set of req to participate in each stage vs said character model. If that isnt lazy then your standards must be really low.

So it would be less lazy if you could use whatever toons you want to do the same exact thing? Or were you expecting some sort of different game play than what this game is? Did you unlock him at 7*? Do you know the level of difficulty involved? How do you not come off as just mad at not being able to unlock? Your argument makes no sense.... Sorry.

It would be less lazy if there was more content and more ways to play other then what it is now. All this is is a bare minimum effort to tied people like you over and get players to spend more $$$ with a minimum amount of $$$ spent on actual development time. You make it sound like all I want is to be able to use what I have so I can easily breeze through the content when I want the opposite. I want to be challenge by facing a variety of teams with the characters I have put alot of work and $$$ into in a varity of challenges and difficulties to obtain the top prize, not the current load of bs we have.

Also no I dont know the level of difficulty fighting a singular 7* Yoda because I dont have 5 7* Jedi and I am assuming 95% if the community doesnt either which is also an issue presented by the design of this event. Everyone should be able to participate in this even no matter what rank or type of characters they chose to use when they started. Even if I had the Jedi to participate this event would still be lazy and a massive disappointment. I honestly expected a lot more from this game and its devs

This is a MOBA. It's living up to expectations for the genre.

This is the first of many different events. The Devs determined that they would have a Jedi only requirement associated with it. There may be future ones with no restrictions. As is we have GW which gives you 12 different opportunities to experiment with squads with varying levels of difficulty for prizes.

The event is going to be regularly repeating. Those that can't partake this time will have future opportunities. This is forcing you to expand your roster. Oh the horror.

You claim to not want to breeze through it but in the next paragraph you state that you should be able to participate regardless of rank. You claim it's lazy and that you're disappointed in event but you haven't even completed it.... What a ridiculous argument.

You're unhappy with the overall game. I can't argue on the price of content. But everything else.....

Hell, I don't even know have 5 X 7* yet and I play almost every day. This event is shit. It is a money grabbing ploy and is par for the course for EA.
I love Star Wars but my god EA can suck the fun out of anything.

Yet another way for EA to drain people's wallets who are addicted to this.

Obviously they make it for a 'limited' time so people rush and purchase a bunch of chromium packs in a desperate attempt to get their jedi to the appropriate amount of stars.

It's kind of sad, really, because they know people will pay. What a waste of money. They must be making more off this than any other game.

Wow after reading some of these comments... what is wrong, why are so many people this angry about new content? Especially if you are free to play, everything you get is quite nice and it gives you a new goal and motivation to play towards. I really like the update and was just commenting that little Yoda is destroying me lol
