I think the main issue is which LS ships you choose.
Resistance xwing did great work for me, since the exposes stack up damage quickly, especially against the tanky clone ships.
Jedi ships bring you buffs, which are crutial if you want to play with AA effectively.
Cleansing ships (Cassian, Plo, and of course AA himself) can clear the target locks that can ruin the battle for you.
However, Biggs has a lot less survivability than you're used to, because without TIEs, you don't have enough sources of target lock to have him survive.
This isn't a battle you're meant to just play on auto. Take a minute and think I'd an actual battle plan, and not just throw whichever ships you have the highest GP ships you have.
