Does Shaak Ti’s leadership kick-in before Rex’s unique?

The speed of the 501st clones is extremely high with Shaak Ti’s leadership and Rex’s unique. But which happens first?

Say I’m running Shaak Ti, Clone Sgt, Rex, Echo and Fives. I.e. three 501st characters. If Rex’s speed is 310 and his unique kicks-in first, then my speed will be 382. (Correct me if I am wrong).

Whereas, if Shaak Ti’s leadership kicks-in before Rex’s unique, Rex will have ~386 speed.

Either way, it is clearly a lot, but I’m looking at lowering Rex’s speed (to move mods around) and a speed of 386 might not necessarily help too much beyond ~350.

Cheers

They both kick in at same time: at start of battle (wihich is after mods are taken into stats).

As with mods, bonuses in the same bracket are calulated:
    * the % ones are added as percentages and then calculated obtaining a rounded linear bonus
    * the + ones are added to the base and the calculated linear obtained from % ones

    With your data:
    From Rex unique: 310 * 0.12 = 37.2 (rounded to +37)
    From Shaak Ti lead: +35
    So a total of 310 +37 +35 = 382

I’m not sure why you said they kick-in at the same time and then also said % based bonuses are triggered first. But thank you for letting me know.

Because "at the same time" and "% first" are basically the same thing. The only time it would matter is if the flat speed is added before the %.

The OP is asking about exactly that - whether flat speed from the leadership is added before the percentage bonus from Rex unique, because it makes a difference in the final speed value.

And the answer is, they both affect the base stat, after mods. So "at the same time" and "% first" are both valid answers. That's all I was saying.

OP asked about when the mods kick in too .....no.

It's like people saw a simple question and thought the OP was a simple person.

Mods kick in before battle starts. That's always the case, it's why you can see them reflected in the stats sheet. Uniques and leads kick in at the beginning of battle.

Edit: He actually didn't ask about when mods kick in, and I actually addressed that in the post you quoted. I'm not sure what you're going for here...
  • This has been taken out of context a bit.
I really would just like to know if the flat speed bonuses or the % based bonuses are added first because they result in different speeds depending on the order they are triggered at the start of battle.

The difference isn’t much (generally a difference of 1-4 speed) but I would still like to know.

% always apply first. Then +

Is this backed up anywhere officially? Or just based on opinion?

Just running into this myself. I dropped down Rex to 270 and with his unique first then Shaak bonus he's 348... need to outspeed a JKR that with bonuses will be 347. If Shaak's bonus kicked in first, I'd be even faster.

Either way, I'm good here-- but as you can see, potentially vulnerable to a faster JKR. I recommend trying to get Rex faster than mine, but 310 even in June 2020 still sounds like overkill vs. all teams, possible exception being something trying to take down a Galactic Legend.

You've chosen to add the independent values at the same time, but you were careful to solve for Rex's Unique bonus on the base BEFORE or INDEPENDENT of adding Shaak's bonus to it.

You can add Rex's bonus first and then Shaak's and get the right speed. But if you add Shaak's first and then Rex's, you'll get the wrong speed as things apparently stand. A new game element could come along eliminating the current prohibitive/priority: "At the outset of battle, add the Leader's bonus to allies before all other considerations."

In short, you must perform the multiplication (find the contribution of Rex's unique) before adding Shaak's bonus. Seen this way, Rex's Unique predominates Shaak's Lead.
