Level 75 Squad Arena Blues.

Hello all,

First time posting here so first let me tell you what a great board this is - really good. Thanks to you all for the excellent support and advice you give. Hopefully you won't find my questions too silly and maybe find the time to reply. I really could use the help!

I'm at Level 75, so a comparative newbie, and enjoying it very much. I feel I'm progressing fairly decently. I've got some decent mid-range characters with some decent mid-range gear and have a pretty good knowledge of synergy and strategy. My problem is this - I can never win Squad Arena battles! I'm currently at a pitiful rank of #1333 and can never seem to progress. I feel I've tried everything my current resources allow- Rebel squads, Empire squads, Jedi squads...nothing. Tried directing the battle, tried going auto...nothing. Even fighting mismatched teams of characters around my level...nothing. What am I doing wrong?

Here are the main characters I'm using on all aspects of the game -

Luminara - 6* - Level 70 - Gear VII

Ackbar - 6* - Level 70 - Gear VII

Mace Windu - 6* - Level 70 - Gear VII

Fives - 4* - Level 70 - Gear VIII

Ahsoka - 5* - Level 70 - Gear VII

Biggs - 6* - Level 70 - Gear VI

Wedge - 5* - Level 70 - Gear VI

Jedi Consular - 5* - Level 70 - Gear VII

Stormtrooper Han - 5* - Level 70 - Gear VI

Ezra - 4* - Level 70 - Gear VII

Qui-Gon Jinn - 4* - Level 70 - Gear VII

Boba Fett - 5* - Level 62 - Gear VII

Darth Vader - 4* - Level 62 - Gear VII

Grand Moff - 5* - Level 62 - Gear VI

Geonosian Soldier - 4* - Level 62 - Gear VII

Count Dooku - 3* - Level 62 - Gear VII

Talia - 4* - Level 61 - Gear VI

TIE Pilot - 3* - Level 62 - VII

Royal Guard - 4* - Level 61 - Gear VI

Your thoughts please-

Why do I do so badly in the Squad Arena?

Who would your team be out of that list?

Which of those activated characters would you be farming at this point?

I'm currently doing my best to unlock Lando and Emperor Palpatine, does this seem a sensible route? If not who should I be working towards? Please note I'm F2P.

Any and all advice very gratefully received thanks! I've really been enjoying this game but it feels a bit like I've hit a brick wall right now which is saddening as I want to continue playing and enjoying. Many thanks to you all - I look forward to reading your wise and smart thoughts on my predicament.

Hi Luke, again and as ever - thanks for all your help and advice.

I will replace Ackbar with Rex, Boba with Lando and Han with Kaytoo. BUT - not before getting them at good levels and good gears :)

Thanks for the Mod guide- that's really useful.

And thanks for the mod tip - well worth knowing.

What teams are you coming up against in your arena shard? How long have you been playing?
Lando would be a good addition IMO but it's sometimes better to improve on what you have rather than use resources and energy to chase after something else.
I'd try pushing your gear levels higher. You could make an arena team out of Ackbar, Lumi, StHan and Wedge and Biggs. That is a decent early to mid-game team but if you are getting whacked on your arena shard then try and imitate what other more successful squads look like.

Not sure how to answer. Been playing about 2 months I guess. Every team I come up against seem to have all 7* characters and be a few levels above me.

That's pretty much the team I use to no avail! Wedge seems to get whacked really early on and then...the rest fall. No joy :(

Ok, will focus on these - speed mods. Unfortunately I cannot get access to them yet. Need to get through Level 7 Mod battles before I can do that :(

Thanks for all the good advice...bascially it seems to be - pump everything into Lum, Han, Ack, Wedge and Biggs. And work up the Mods scale to get access to the Speed Mods. Are Health Mods very important up to that point? More important than other things?

Health on StHan. He's your tank and you need him to hang around.

Personally for mods I look for speed secondaries. I use set bonuses for crit damage and crit chance and try and get most of my toons to have a speed arrow mod. Speed is key in arena.

ST Han is your TM Manipulator. You'd want speed on him first, then protection/health.
If you can get Boba to Ability Block first then ST Han to Taunt, you can feed a lot of TM to your entire squad.
Definitely switch to Wedge lead when possible. And everyone should get an arrow mod with Speed Primary. (Goes to +30 for a 5 dot arrow mod)

When talking about speed mods, most of the time we mean mods with speed secondaries. No problem if they are health mods.

You don´t need access to the SpeedMod area to get speed mods.
You just need your first mod challenge (the health one, where you can use all characters), then beat the last stage and farm mods from here (the 16 energy/try one). Sometimes you will get mods with speed as secoundary effect or with protection.
I highly recommend watching a mod guide video on youtube or reading the mod guide in the (I hope there is one :D).

They don't need to be speed sets, just mods that have speed as one of the attributes.
